Same here. Why should I pay them over the odds when they don't really give any better service than anyone else?

Okay ! I'm confused now when the best time for me is to move from Madasafish without extra costs.
I do have my 12th invoice, the 1st was on the 04/02/2006 and the last invoice date due was on the 12/01/2007 but when I open this invoice it says "invoice date 06/01/2007. Could anyone suggest a date when I could move without having to pay for a extra month.
The other thing I would like to know is do I have to obtain my MAC code over the phone, the problem with this is I have a hearing problem which makes it difficult for me using a phone and hearing the person on the other end. I must say that I have not had any problems with MAAF but am finding that the 5GB usage is not enough now and am thinking of possibly moving to NewNet on their 12GB package for £17.99.

    Cheers :D

You only need to give them 28 days notice to end the contract.

If you give that notice today it will take you past your 12 months anniversary, so you will have to pay for any extra days service after your 12 months are up.

But according to their terms that is all you should be charged (ie not another full month)

Because of your hearing difficulties ask them to e-mail you your MAC (they may do this in any case as a MAC has loads of digits and it would be easy for anyone to make a mistake writing one down over the phone).

In view of others experiences posted recently maybe it would be as well to confirm your notice in writing to them, then there can be no arguments that you never gave the proper notice.

Hey Cheghead. Remember me from last year and TT issues? Who are you next going with?
I'm really confused with all this and am going to have to reread the bits about leaving carefully.
Sorry Samara, no reflection on you. It's just £16.99 isn't particularly competitive anymore.

Doesn't it go up to £17.99 from month 13 onwards? The £1 off cheaper deal is only for the first 12 months.

Hi sloughflint, here we are again. I'm gonna go with Sky. At £5/month and 40gb and free wireless router how can you get better value than that? Not particularly over impressed with maff. Have had several times when I could not connect and cust support not that good as you can never be sure you got the right answer from them.

Asked the question when should I give the 28 days notice. Just got an e-mail which included this:

<Thank you for contacting Madasafish Customer Services.

You will have to call us only once your twelve months are up therefore you can call us after your 12th invoice on the 15/03/07 or on the same day to avoid paying a 13th invoice.

When you do call in we will generate a Mac key for you which you will receive within 24hrs and you have to use the Mac key within 30days before it expires.>

    Does it make sense?

    When did your contract start?

This confusing e-mail suggests your 12th invoice will be due for payment on 15/3/07. So this means your contract commenced on 14/4/06.

But it also (wrongly) says that you have to call them once the 12 months are up!

If your contract started on 14/04/06, then you won't have to pay a 13th month after all.

Just give your notice as they suggest on 15/3/07 and ask for a MAC at the same time.

Then make sure the MAC is completed before 15/4/07.

But if your contract started on 15/3/07 then you will need to contest this e-mail as they are not complying with the contract conditions:
you or we may terminate this Agreement on giving not less than 28 days notice to the other; such notice not to expire before the end of the Minimum Period.
