mislead into mobile internet- any way out??

At The Carphone warehouse my daughter took a 24 month contract O2 mobile internet.
All the way through the conversation with the carphone warehouse salesman she insisted that her budget for the month could only go to the £30 a month which was advertised.
The Salesman kept telling her this was the contract for her and there was no way any monthly bill would for any reason be higher than the £30 advertised.
She also told him she wasn’t that technically minded and just wanted it to browse young people’s sites like youtube and watch music videos, she didn’t know just browsing and was classed as downloading and exceeded the 3gig a month limit.
Either way she was told that she could in no way at all exceed the £30 a month advertised, the salesman kept telling her this, she’s just had a bill for £300.
Hasn’t this salesman mislead her into this contract and is there a way out? Even if it means returning the laptop and pay the months bill as this limited internet is of no use to a young person anyway.
She wouldn’t have taken out the contract if she thought browsing was classed as downloading either.
I know that’s a different topic but I thought watching a youtube clip was streaming (watching) not physically downloading.
either way she was told she would never recieve a bill for more than the £30 advertised

No he has not mislead her atall, This would have been in the T+C's which should have been read, And no, there is no way out of the contract.0

people don't realise, had someone with a £972 bill before from playing poker online, they should have made it clear that anything you do on the net is 'downloading' because you download that page, whatever it is, very difficult to argue though because I assume they clearly told you for the 3gb limit? best thing is stick to using the internet to just browse normal web pages (no games/video/transfering files/downloading attachments) and speak to o2 about reducing the bill as a gesture of goodwill and/or arranging a payment plan, and make a complaint to CPW also about the what you were told and hope they give you some credit as a gesture of good willYes Your Dukeiness

then it is of no use at all to a young person, she doesn't pysically download anything only browse pages of myspace and youtube
So what is the point if she cant even look at anything0 -
There is always the option of paying the early termination fee0

what would that be sporedude the £30 x 24 payments?0

browsing IS downloading, you are downloading that webpage to display that's why doesn't matter if you look at it for one second or one hour, I definately wouldn't go on youtube with it...at least very often, there are plenty of other things to use it for checking email/myspace/facebook/ any other kind of web page that doesn't have music/videoYes Your Dukeiness

They might as a goodwill gesture reduce the amount on the bill, No harm in asking, But it would be a one off.0
