I think that you're my twin, except I have bigger drawers!
I bought some things a few weeks ago, only to find 2 of exactly the same tshirts in the ironing basket this week. That's my biggest downfall as I hate ironing, I just forget about things at the bottom.
Agree with the getting rid of 'decorating/gardening clothes' because, certainly in my case I rarely decorate & wear ordinary gear in the garden.

    Hello Twin

I run a ironing service so even though i hate ironing all of my stuff is ironed nice  I deffo need to sort the wardrobes I just haven't got the time!

who can tell me where to find gok stuff about body shape? <cut>I am now 18-20 on top 16 below. also cant have things digging in my back and cant wear any of my heels :( <cut> we literally have no spare money for new clothes for me - apart from me needing an outfit for a wedding. <cut> i have pale skin and blue eyes. hair is very curly shoulder length naturally blond to brown and usually blonde for sumer red for winter - its red still at the moment. oh and i wear glasses too so i am planning on investing in a couple of pairs to match with everything. any help would be great as this is something i really cant do alone and i have no family here. plus my family are all skinny so i usually just hear comments about my size which makes me depressed.

Angel from what you've said you're a similar shape to me. Its quite difficult but a start might be some wide legged trousers, which you can wear with flats if heels are out. [I don't think that people worry about women wearing trousers to a wedding nowadays do they? I've even been to weddings where female guests have worn WHITE!!] If it's a summer wedding you can get some great linen or linen blend styles. The wide legs will help balance you out a little. If you're busty a simple open or V neck is good. Would a jacket be too uncomfortable? I'm not very good at all this myself, it can be a bit hit & miss. The best thing is to just go & try on loads of stuff & see what suits once you have an idea of shapes.

Pity we can't all get together for a massive clothes-swap! :j :money:

    I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed you (& your iron)... :o

I've been thinking about clothes all day. So thanks to the OP, I'm going to start a fullscale cull tomorrow. I saw something in the local paper about our charity shops not getting many donations as everyone was selling stuff themselves, so at least I can try to make them happier.

thanks so much gok makes me an apple - i used to be an hour glass so i am having to learn to adjust i think  anyhow i am really pleased as so far everything he suggests is the stuff i look at for myself so thank goodness i must know what suits me! just need to clear out what doesnt fit and start a new. also good he suggests wrap around dresses that i love and printed ones will show my wildside - phew as i always like printed ones so now i am allowed to treat myself when i find a good one :D

    A mid-rise yet curved waistband
can someone help me with this bit about trousers though please. i am now going to be ironing creases back in as he suggests this with pointy out pumps which is how i like them too. but im not sure about the waist description? I normally go for jackets that are single breasted fitted just as he states and then for trousers ones where the wasity bit goes over to one side and theres like a couple of buttons to do up to side rather than at front. makes my tummy disappear. is that what he means or something else?

If it works & makes you look and feel slimmer, then go for it! Sometimes he can be a bit difficult in what he says. Also, another good tip is to have a slightly large cross-body bag to "hide" your tummy behind ;)

Angel, I'm the same size as you up top and I was going to say wrap styles are best but you've beat me to it :p. Scoop necks and square or V necks are also good, anything to show off those bangers as Gok says :D

Oh my goodness, those of you with massive wardrobes and drawers  We have one freestanding small double wardrobe between my partner and I. It has a deep drawer underneath. That houses ALL the ironed clothes and coats for us both and the drawer holds any un-ironed clothes plus winter things. We have a tall slim chest of drawers as well for underwear plus my folded pashminas and scarves. When you've all had a good old sort out you'll have soooo much more space plus you'll be able to see what you actually need to buy to pull an outfit together so let us know how you're getting on

If you think I'm bad, my sister & mother both have walk in wardrobes the size of a reasonable bedroom (about 12'x 12') AND dressing rooms. Plus they're all fitted with hanging rails, drawers, mirrors, shoe racks etc. It's like walking into a small boutique!

Never Enough, OMG!! I bet they have a TON of stuff they never wear! My mother-in-law is like that too with clothes literally stuffed in wardrobes so it's all squashed up, clothes that are donkey's years out of date, things which don't fit etc. Now they are moving into a small bungalow for their retirement and she has the daunting task of weeks of sorting through it all!

I am not petite because I am 5'7 but I have a tiny waist (24") with my hips and bust being the same size (32"). I have a bust on me as I am a cup size C so cannot be described as flatchested.

I have never fitted into the commonly known body types but according to the links I am a 'racy ruler' and a 'column' - doesn't sound great does it lol

I have never really worried about my body-shape and can wear almost anything. I have the same waist size as I had in my early teens and the biggest I have ever been was pregnant when I went up to 9stones - I remember meeting new people when I was about 7months gone that did not believe I was pregnant!

I like taking risks & experimenting when it comes to fashion and adore brights as much as muted colours. I am weary of not dressing 'too young' but I know I look quite cool or at least everyone tells me so!

My current style goddess is Queen Michelle from Kingdom of Style and I have to admit that I do try and inject a little bit of her sensibility in my own style whilst still making it my own.

I spoke about my cull on the front page and true to form after buying a gorgeous vintage flower print M&S skirt yesterday (that I plan on turning into a dress) I shall be going upstairs in a minute to find TWO items that I shall be donating to charity.
