Sharron, I didn't see that prog but maybe I'll catch it on I player tomorrow.
Just this once, I'll show you all my signature. I normally block it from all of my posts.
We are determined to repay our mortgage. This made us really review our spending. With a bit of help from fly lady to encourage me to get rid, I sorted my clothes. I was ruthless and got rid of tons of stuff. I was left with only a few things but those things made me feel good. When I saw what I had left, I had a bit of an  moment. Then I thought about it and wondered why as I only wore the stuff out of desperation. So I thought I'd go with it.
I'm left with not many clothes. The ones that really stand out are the pink trousers my best friend bought me 5 months after DS was born. At the time we all lived in a flat and I rarely went out unless it was to go to work or shopping. I had these trousers in my wardrobe for a year before I wore them. Then we moved into our house and I found myself wearing them a lot and actually loving them! I still have these trousers 5 years on. I still wear them and still love them. They were £20 full price. I have worn these more times than I can remember. I'm guessing that they worked out at 50p maximum per wear.
Another fab item I have is a cotton dress from H&M. I bought it on our last day of holiday in France 2 years ago. It cost about £19 at the time. I've worn it to one ball (dressed up) and lots of nights out. So far, I think it's cost 95p per wear (max).
Having looked through my wardrobe as it stands, I know that I would like a white top. I can make do with one as it is only when I wear my pink trousers that I feel a little twee wearing a pink top too! I looked in Tesco earlier and their vests are £2.50. I am now on year 3 on one of the vests I bought from there. The black one unraveled and the white one got sweat/ deodorant marks on the pits. I will spend this but am going to look around first to find one that fits as well as they do and will wash as well.
Anyhoo, it's late, I've rambled (quel surprise Kaz!) and my bed is calling me!
My outfit today was fat face tunic (free from friend), Levi jeans (free from SiL), purple vest (£2 Tesco- max 10p per wear), (BTW- those who now think I'm grubby, I got confused and had the Next one on yesterday lol!) white sports bra (£2.50 tkmax), black pants (I know, nasty. Still bleeding after gynae procedure 6 weeks ago, otherwise would have matching but need something to hold pad in place)

who can tell me where to find gok stuff about body shape? i have already got rid of tons of bags of clothes earlier in the year. i was a 16 on top 14 below but put on weight cause of back surgery so I am now 18-20 on top 16 below. also cant have things digging in my back and cant wear any of my heels
(( so i need to have another sort out as i am still wearing the same clothes all the time as they are the comfy loose ones - ie too big for me that dont dig in. i had to wear these when ill as i was getting swollen
any help would be appreciated. we literally have no spare money for new clothes for me - apart from me needing an outfit for a wedding. i have looked and tried everywhere and cant find a thing thats any good and comfy! i used to love corset style dresses and tops as i am curvy so look the best and make me feel confident but now they just hurt me
i am in a bit of a predicament so need help from girls who actually enjoy clothes shopping unlike me
i have pale skin and blue eyes. hair is very curly shoulder length naturally blond to brown and usually blonde for sumer red for winter - its red still at the moment. oh and i wear glasses too so i am planning on investing in a couple of pairs to match with everything. any help would be great as this is something i really cant do alone and i have no family here. plus my family are all skinny so i usually just hear comments about my size which makes me depressed.

angel, sorry to hear you've been having a rough time lately.
If you've already had a good clearout earlier on, I would for the time being move the stuff that doesn't fit and the shoes you can't wear out of the wardrobe for now and hang it in the spare room or pack it away and store it. I think atm you need some hope that when you've fully got over the eefects of your op that you will be able to gradually lose the weight, which willbe better for your back and fit into some of those clothes again.
In the meantime not staring at those clothes everyday will definitely make you feel better and its amazing how uncluttering the wardrobe space and leaving the few things hanging there that you do wear/do fit makes you feel more positive. I did this yesterday and this morning and have found it very theraputic. I have started with 1 item in my case an unworn white linen skirt and am trying to build a few outfits round it using a couple of things I've already got and possibly making one or two cheapie purchases.
Clearing the space clears your mind and helps you focus!
Sure someone will be along to advise re the body shape query soon.
Good luck

When I decluttered my wardrobe recently it became apparent that I held onto things for too long. I cleared out the "wear around the house" stuff (I'm retired now), moved some better clothes down to that category and was ruthless with my "going out" clothes.
I now have one wardrobe for everyday wear and one for going out clothes. I have to like a garment a lot before it gets a place in my wardrobe now.
I decluttered my shoes to 6 pairs and now have 6 handbags instead of a lot of clutter.
I bought 2 new jackets - one for bad weather and a lighter one and donated nearly all the others. I have 6 coats/jackets and feel a lot better about what I've kept. It makes dressing so much easier. I'm now going use the "one in - one out" procedure." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I do agree with you about the 'round the house' clothes and also gardening/ decorating clothes!! How much do you actually need? The answer is not much, certainly not all the old horrors I used to keep "for decorating" purposes, now I just have 1 pair of joggers and 1 tee shirt for decorating.0 -

thanks a lot last time i cleared out the wardrobes i felt so much better! my surgery was 2007 and did physio till end of last year but i just cannot lose the weight it seems! i have been on healthy eating plan for a year which i am not planning on stopping and going back to eating what i want - i always ate healthily anyhow but i limited my cheese intake etc to get saturated fats as low as possible. in a year i have nost nothing! in the spare room i have old work clothes i hope to get back into if i ever need to and some going out clothes and a beautiful prom dress (which cannot wear to wedding as corset style hurts me too much and wedding is a really long day). in my daily wardrobe i just seem to have a pile of old things and jeans etc for day to day use. i did find a few summery tops the other day which can fit into again which i have now added to this so i have a few more clothes i can actually use. i have also found some really pretty work tops that i am sure i am not going to get back into so think i am going to just get them all washed next sunny day and donate a lovely bag of pretty work bags to a charity shop - i just wish for every item i dontated i could get one i can use as i really dont have enough clothes or enough things that go together
i have account with simplybe and fashionworld so thinking about going through everything that fits and making a proper list of what stuff i need to go with it and then use my accounts to get exactly whats on the list. i know i need some good fitting black vests - last ones i got that were ok were expensive and principles but lasted - as i have tops i can wear over them for a different outfit some days. this spring i was going to invest in 3 summer dresses as i dont have any and so far i havent found any that are any good :eek:0 -
Are you able to take any gentle exercise angel? I'm sure that may help kick off the weight loss a bit. It must be really frustrating for you, but you're right to concentrate on healthy eating as your body's still obviously in recovery mode.
Someone on an earlier thread suggested a Debenhams personal shopper as a way to get a fresh slant on clothes. I was always worried that I might end up spending loads on clothes I didn't really need, but the suggestion was to make an appointment and say you're looking for an outfit for an occasion (wedding), with a budget of £XXX. You don't have to buy anything at the end of the day, but I would be interested to see what they came up with and of course Debenhams has all the concessions, so they do fit a range of budgets. Also the advantage for you would be you could check out the website at home and make notes on anything you fancy, but the personal shopper will do all the running round for you!0
