Hi. I've never ordered from Avon before as we have never had a rep around our area, and i usually use Bourjois, and Clinique
i think theres a new rep around here now as have received first Avon catalogue through door!! have to return it tomorrow so not much time to browse and consider but..
i would just like some shared opiniions please on what you think of their products, ie quality and value for money on their makeup, toiletries, perfumes etc
any suggestions is appreciated
thanks

I have to admit, I didnt like much of their items. I found the make up to be very expensive and the perfumes very samey.
However, the naturals range isnt bad when on offerKent Bird!:beer:0 -
Hi, in my experience it's a bit of a mix! The Advance Techniques shampoo/conditioner is brilliant IMO, the body wash is nice (especially the Skin So Soft range) and the moisturisers are nice too, I've just started using the Planet Spa Firming Body Gel and it's really nice, my legs feel all smooth and lovely! I definitely think these products are worth buying, especially when you get them on special offer, cheaper and nicer than supermarket brands!
I've given up with their make up though, I went through a phase of buying a fair bit but went back to better brands as it let me down. It just didn't seem to wear very well, but I'm quite fussy with make up; I work with a lady who has loads of Avon make up and loves it so I suppose it just depends on whether it suits you or not!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Cheap and cheerful overall - I've not had much but went through a bit of a phase.
Skin so soft - very nice range.
Make-up - got a few eyeshadow sticks ("arabian glow"?) still going strong, good to apply, lovely colours, do tend to rub off by the end of the night though
Don't bother with jewellery / undies though!
Try a few bits on special offer and see what you think?"She who asks is a fool once. She who never asks is a fool forever"

I buy their shower gels when they're on good deals and I like their tinted moisturiser. We also stock up on Skin so Soft (green one) when thats on offer, which keeps flies off our horses in hot weather.
I do think that the reps work very hard for their money and I sometimes think that Avon should treat their ladies to pampering/beauty sessions because I have never met an Avon lady yet who really looks good. One in our area has bleached/frizzed to death hair, looks shattered and never wears any make-up at all!:rolleyes:0 -
Hiya,
I used to sell Avon and hated every min of it!! The products arrive in a big cardborad box with no protection at all so I don't reallyt hink they actually care about their products! Things would leak or arrive damaged.
Anyway, I found the footworks stuff to be quite good (heel softening balm in paticular, I just use it as an all over foot moisturiser)Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

some of the small print on the back of the order form mentions 'entering into a contract' does this mean i have to order all the time from every catalogue or can i order as and when i need to ?
thanks0 -
The quality is much lower then Bourjois or Clinique. Some items can be quite expensive for what they are, the cheap ones are not really worth a penny, apart maybe from the body lotions. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Not to my knowledge. I don't buy something every month. I would try it and see, then if you don't really like the stuff just tell the rep you don't want the catalogue anymore.
Skin so soft stuff is nice. The deoderants are a bit rank. I use the mascara (something like "superfull") which I would recommend, (but the cheapie version for teenagers is pretty bad). Have the Solutions Am/PM mosituriser which is fine and spf 15 -which my mum swears by, but mum bought it for me so don't know the price. (iwas that a hint that i have wrinkles/bad skin??). I didn't get on with the mineral foundation -made every flaw magnified and looked like I was Barbara cartland!
All in all, I think you can get cheaper/better value stuff elsewhere but generally the cosmetics/toiletries aren't bad. They do good cheap stuff in the sale though, especially bags."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
Avon have a 90 day returns policy. So you could order some of the products you fancy and if they do not suit you can return them. There is no problem with returns. Also your rep may have some some samples or demo products they could show you before you place an order.0
