Tesco messed up my order!

 My shopping was half an hour late and I had 2 bags of someone elses shopping (I can only assume that someone else had 2 bags of mine because half of mine was missing!) Tesco said I can Keep the shopping I didn't order
and refunded what they didn't send but I have no coffee milk or cerial for the morning and it's to late to get any now.

Bit of a pain, but you did get some free shopping! Toast and orange juice it is then...
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Ive been using tesco.com for 18 months now. Never any major problems except with the odd missed item which they refund the money immediatly. One thing I did notice was that the dates on some items were not that good and only lasted a couple of days so in the "write note " bit I put "longest date on shelf please" and this has seemed to remedy the problem. Incidentally, mine is always on time.

Just used Tesco.com for grocery delivery (previously used the Tesco.com wine warehouse) and have to say it may well be my last occasion of using it.

My concern is the effective “increase” in prices I have paid.

Original order was approximately £85 comprising £28 of non-perishable grocery items, £53 for 14 bottles of wine (from Tesco.com grocery section as opposed to the “wine warehouse”) all of which were on “special offer” and £4 delivery charge.

I had also used a coupon for £10 off a spend of greater than £75.

The order arrived, 10 of the 14 bottles of wine “were not available today”.

    The net result

    · £10 coupon not applied
    · as only 4 bottles of wine were delivered, 5% discount on buying 6 or more bottles of wine not applied (and I would typically always buy 6 or more bottles of wine in order to obtain 5% discount)
    · a £4 delivery charge on purchases of £43, I would never have placed an order for such a relatively small amount and incur such a delivery charge as I consider it uneconomic to apply effectively a 10% delivery charge and also in my original thinking the delivery charge was effectively compensated (indeed more than offset) by the £10 money off coupon I was using.

I have paid £47 for the goods I have received. By my calculation, if I had received those same goods as part of the original larger order I had placed the proportionate amount would have been £39.25, an effective increase of 20%

At the moment trying to summon up the energy to set out the above arguments to “Tesco.com customer services”.

We've used them on and off for the last 3 years, but have used them constantly in the last 6 months or so. Generally, they have been great but we've had problems with our last 2 orders. The first one, they phoned to say their van had broken down so we'd have to receive it the following day. Understable I suppose, but it's hard to believe they don't have spare/alternative vans. Last week we ordered £100 worth of shopping and when the guy got here I remember thinking he was probably new because he was taking ages to get the bags out of the van etc. So we're putting the shopping away and we notice a substantial amount of stuff is missing. So we have to check off what IS there on the list then ring Tesco saying what's missing. Firstly I found it unbelieveable they didn't just contact the driver because it was obvious the stuff was still in his van and he had missed them when bringing them to our door. Instead they said they'd refund us. The stuff was things we really needed so my wife decided to go and replace the stuff at our local Tesco's.

While she was there there was a message left on our answermachine - guess who? The driver saying he forgot to give us some stuff and is gonna bring it around later  Of course we weren't happy with this. My wife called him back and told him she had already replaced the stuff and not to bother. The next day we checked our E-Mail to see how much they had refunded us, and we compared it to what we had replaced. They had somehow got a bunch of prices wrong and we had to phone them yet AGAIN to get more money refunded - in this case almost £20. An absoloute comedy of errors I'm sure you'll agree. I think we're gonna use the '3 strikes and you're out' rule this time, if they mess up for a third time on the trot I don't think we'll be ordering from them again.

I din't use them at all anymore, they are terrible. Always late for a start, always given substitues when requested no subs, dates are very short, plus wrong items picked off self.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I never use them for essential items - just in case!

Just for the heavy stuff - like drinks and washing tablets.

Though having said that - sonce I got my shopping trolley - see Wally Trolley thread - lol - I haven't even had to do that as it all fits in my trolley!

Been using Tesco.com for 6 months now as I've moved into an apartment block in Leeds centre - nowhere near a Tesco and on a private road, so taxi's drop you off at the end and you end up carrying your shopping through the complex and into the block.

The website is great, much easier to use than Asda, and the vouchers are good too as usually instore I'd make savings on battered or on date foods (which I obviously can't do online). One gripe is my local tesco doesn't do own brand honey whereas the store sells it - and the other brands are quite pricey. On the whole it's made my life much easier.

But like people on here we've had huge problems with the drivers. They've dropped 15 bags at the end of the street and refused to help us to the door, wouldn't even lend us a trolley, they've left it on our apartment doorstep, and they never ever wait for the plastic stacking boxes back-we've had to chuck them away as they were such an eyesore. I emailed Tesco and got no response. I would prefer to use Asda but I hate their website...but Tesco's just won't listen. Might try Sainsbury's, their delivery guys take it to the door and up the lift to the apartments!

Tesco delivered the rest of my order today (what they didn't send yesterday)
They were on time but there were still items missing mostly nice cakey things-but at least I wasn't charged for them. I give up!
