Given the increasing number of cashback deals on offer, wouldn't if be useful if someone (Oftel? Watchdog? MSE?) could pursuade the mobile retailers to include standard information on cashback deals?  It would also make it easier to compare deals and companies.

From discussion on the boards here, there appears to be some confusion about how they work, what the exact terms of the deals are, what hoops need jumping through and by when.  ???  Ideally, this information should all be provided before purchase (I am not recommending anyone here, even though I have advertising links with most online retailers on my websites, but see an example from Talkworldonline http://www.talkworldonline.co.uk/phone_tariffs.cfm?phoneid=359&networkid=3&price_plan=monthly&tariffid=430#specials or Carphonewarehouse http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/commerce/servlet/gben-specialoffers-Details?itemID=MAIN.UK.INTERNET.SPECIAL.OFFERS.JAN053NOK7600H3 which are possibly clearer than some of the other retailers).

Given the confusion surrounding some of these deals, you could almost suspect that some companies are relying on the fact that people will miss the deadline/breach the terms/be too lazy to claim and therefore they will not have to pay out ...  ::).

    Hi all,

This is a bit of a turn around for me as I was promoting their cashback deals not so long ago as they had some good offers but I would now suggest avoiding using ONESTOPPHONESHOP....

Basically, I found a good deal on OSPS and told all my friends and family about it. A total of 9 people took the deal out. It came to the claiming cashback stage and everything was OK until it came to my mums cashback. She sent off her claim via recorded delivery and at the same time sent of my brothers (seperate envelopes and seperate recorded delivery slips)...

A few weeks later my brothers cashback cheque arrived... hers didn't. She checked the recorded delivery slips and it only shows one being delivered!!! (not sure which one). We contacted OSPT and they were most UNHELPFUL... they will avoid paying out this cashbach wherever possible - great customer services hey!!!!
They have said that as they didn't have the claim form within the said time scale they cannot payout the cash back, dispite the fact my mum has the recorded delivery slip (dated) and all copies of the forms sent out...

Just to make things worse she cannot claim anything from royal mail as the lady in the post office wrote NCV (no commercial value) on the letter which I suppose is true?!?

I'm not sure what to do now... £80 is a lot of money to lose... I will be fighting this to the bitter end... OSPT be warned this is not the end...!!!!

BUYERS - ONE STOP PHONE SHOP ARE LEGAL CRIMINALS!!!!

    Hope someone can help

    Simon

Sorry to hear about your problems. OSPS has in the past failed to honour their cashback deal. I got my first cashback. See what happens when i claim for the next two
