Well, both Mozilla and Opera offered to let Microsoft distribute their browsers via Windows Update.
Microsoft declined on the basis that it would be "confusing".
I cant say Microsoft are too confident in their own browserMicrosoft recommends "users migrate to more recent web browsing technologies such as Apple's Safari."
This breaks down the differences of web browsers quite nicely.0 -

much as I have no doubt other browsers are faster (not used opera for a few years..but it was my browser of choice before ffox) I'm not sure there's another browser that can compete with firefox for 'toys'...some of which I find invaluable (imacros and greasemonkey)Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
The new Opera looks promising, 100% pass on the Acid2 test and I wonder if they have fixed the problem with the lack of DEP support.0
