Well DS has so far made a veg soup with butternut squash, peppers, onions and garlic. A loaf is on in the breadmaker and mince is out of the freezer defrosting ( this should make a shepherds pie and a lasagne)
We have written down a St.Peter's mud pie recipe of the oldstyle grocery challenge thread and may indulge a bit later for a Friday treat.
DD2 is going to make some scones( reduced sugar) for her and am looking up some other recipes that she may enjoy.
Diet will start again tomorrow and so they are all happy chappies at thought of menu planning. Weird what makes us happy isn't it?
At least spends will be zilch as all ingredients in the house and we are using up left overs.
So have planned.
lasagne
shepherds pie
scones
st.peters mud pie
lamb curry
steak and spices, new potatoes and veg
Chicken
chicken sandwiches
chicken curry
SW quiche, wedges and salad
veg soups.
HM bread and going to try an artisan loaf
weetabix cake
weezls lentil pate which is absolutely gorgeous!
Also have some frozen sausages to use and eggs, so i am thinking scotch eggs etc.
A lot of it will be for the freezer, but nothing spent so may last us for a couple of weeks at this rate, but doubt it.
SHopping list will be for adding a couple of things missed. Mostly to farm shops for veg which is very cheap at the moment.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

St Peters mud pie sounds interesting.
Have to say we didn't like the Weetabix cake - but then I'm a crummy cook and it was probably cooks errors0 -

Pah, Mr.B received a double charge for late payment and overlimit fee...:mad:
So that has p$$ed me orf no end:o Have just rallied him to get on the phone and sort out. This is an interesting journey eh? I think he was genuinly absent minded about it.... as he is careful with this card as it is linked to the bank:o
Still i wanted to hobble orf to Welsh Wales and hide.:o
So a Blackadder quote to cheer moi up.
Queenie: I may have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a concrete elephant.
Yep just about somes me up...wonders if there is a quote about longevity in marriage above and beyond.....I am sure by now that everyone reckons Mr.B is completely BOB pecked....so quotes maybe needed for both sides!:rotfl::rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
