The answer to OP's question is that payments made on a Sunday, as his was, into any UK bank account, whether made by FP or not, will be redated Monday. Also you have to be aware that a Bank's "End of Day" is not necessarily the split second before 12 midnight but may be a few hours earlier, when they close that payments scheme for the day. A FP made to my Co-op bank account after 9pm is always redated to the following day, for example.Ethical moneysaver0

why anyone whos works for the company and think its unfair people are milking it are cleary mad heres why
all banks have abused there terms and coditions of products over the years so for the punters to get something back is just right.
i work for the bank and trust me me like many others are doing this why not.
in this uncertain times when you can pick up 'free money' you would be mad not too.
especially with the hard times facing the staff uncertain about the jobs and every week people seem to be getting laid off.
so excuse me i will take the £5 payment

Hopefully you are taking £15. The fact that Halifax explicity allow everyone to have 3 accounts in the account T&Cs rather waters down the argument that people are gaming the system.supersavor wrote: »so excuse me i will take the £5 payment

Does anyone know if the £1000 [required to be paid into the Reward Current Account each month] can come from a Halifax savings account, or does it have to be £1000 from an account outside Halifax?
It can come from any account (including a savings account within halifax). I get paid into my halifax account and transfer direct to the other two reward accounts.
A word of advice for the OP, open another 2 reward accounts, as you are allowed 3 per person. You should contact halifax re: the missed payment.
So in reality you have actually lost 15 pounds, not 5 pounds.
I would love to know how much money we have taken off halifax?
Myself and family have 8 accounts in total and I believe it started In january 2009 (first reward in Feb?) - that makes it 200 pounds (40 x 5 months reward).0 -
Where does it say that you're allowed 3 reward accounts? Can you still open a reward account if you have other current a/c like a student current a/c?0

Does this account come with debit card etc? Can you rather not have it. Surely, we dont need it with 3 accounts for the purpose of fiver?0

Whilst you can decline the cheque book and overdraft, I believe the debit card is sent automatically...once you've deposited at least £100 and it's resided overnight.Does this account come with debit card etc? Can you rather not have it. Surely, we dont need it with 3 accounts for the purpose of fiver?
A little activity on the debit card, however, may deflect unwanted attention when Halifax start interrogating accounts for abuse...as they're sure to do at some point.
Just in case you have any further questions, everything you ever wanted to know about the Reward account and it's operation will be found in the original thread from earlier this year...
