Very Nervous First Time Poster and First Time Family Holiday

Turkey is indeed VERY hot mid summer, The Delphin Palace is however a very nice hotel, but not best for younger children.
The holiday villages I have no personal experience of but have heard good reports.
Search anywhere you are interested in on Tripadvisor, but take some of the reviews with a pinch of salt, look at overall reviews, some people complain about everything.
 Good luck.0

I would pop on to somewhere like icelolly.com they have some great bargains sometimes. If you're not fussed too much where you want to go but have a budget, it's a pretty good site although they seem limited for airports. I got a fab holiday through them for 2 adults £380 (half board) all taxes paid etc to Santa Susanna in Spain, 7 days, that price was for the both of us.
Avoid the normal Brit tourist places because you will be absolutely inundated (at those dates) with the all inclusive crowds taking the most they can of the drink & food & your kids (and yourselves probably) will be highly unamused by it.
Might be a good idea to go onto expedia.com (not that you would buy there because they are soooooooo overpriced) and just hitting "Inspire Me". that might give you some ideas of where to go, then from that, try icelolly, try google searching for what grabs you. Disney Paris?0

Thank you for all the very useful and helpful advice on here. My fingers are numb from searching the internet so much!
One of the school mum's has been advising me too - she's just returned from a First Choice Holiday Village in Majorca and I am 95% close to booking it too - she could not rate it highly enough especially for a 'stop worrying' first time holiday booking - as everything is catered around the kids and that's all I want really and truly.x.
So - off to see if I can find any information on the Holiday Village in Majorca - Holiday Village Viva I understand it's called....
 Thanks again... I will book something - I must I must I must!0

            Hi
Glad to hear that you've (almost) decided where to go.
In case you've not already found this site, take a look here:

Some people get very snooty about Majorca dont let this put you off, it has a lot going for it, short flight, nice beaches and weather, family friendly. I personally love Palma for culture shopping etc. I would rate it as an excellent location for a first foreign family holiday.0
