My oh once very politely asked the postman not to force his way through our newly planted hedge to deliver to our neighbour after delivering to us
sadly once became thrice,oh rang sorting office
Our postie keeps doing this too, he just walks along the plants under ours and our next door neighbours front windows and walks through the hedge. The other niggle is that he leaves the letter box open after delivering the mail.
When I was a casual postie we were always told to leave things as you found them i.e. gates open or closed, not to cut over lawns etc and to not bend things.
It does remind me of a time when I was a paper girl, I delivered weekend papers and found Sunday Broadsheets hard work. Some people had dainty victorian letter boxes this required the supplements to be posted one at a time. One day when half way through posting an observer and the supplements the door opened and a guy yelled "If I want my paper disecting I'll do it myself!"
Jeez no pleasing some people!! I'm sure he would have been first to moan if it was delivered torn!
Many many years ago when I was a student I worked during holidays as a postie. When being shown the ropes by one elderly postman I pointed out that he had just bent a letter marked 'DO NOT BEND'. His reply was 'Did it say PLEASE?'
