Royal Mail Postman...DO NOT BEND...

How hard can it be, a card from Moonpig, the envelope emblazoned with the logo "DO NOT BEND"....guess what....bent in two...stuffed through the letterbox....
why not do what he does with everything else he reckons wont fit....drop in a card....I can collect at the post office....
you know, he's even done it with a cardboard backed envelope with a diploma inside...and on the outside...you guessed "DO NOT BEND"...
surely if its got something inside that shouldn't be bent and it clearly states on the outside "DO NOT BEND" and he proceeds to bend it and damage the contents...there must be some sort of recourse....

Why don't you say something to him?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
He is paid too deliver the mail
Its not his fault you order things that dont fit in your letterbox0 -

It's not his fault that he's a half wit either I guess.
Having something delivered with "do not bend" written on it is pretty self explanatory. A knock on the door to attempt hand delivery or a card through the door to advise collection is hardly rocket science and is what most posties would do out of plain old common sense."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

My postie does this too. A big wad of letters, magazines and a journal (you know things I've paid for and would like to keep and read at a later date) folded in half and stuffed through the letterbox!
This damages the spine of the journal and, for what? He spends more time stuffing the whole wad through than he'd do if he posted each individual item in one at a time.
Oh and none of these things are too big to post through, he just does it.
I've spoken to him on a few occassions about this and when I am in try to beat him to the door, but all I get is lip service and same thing happens next month.
Maybe Custardy would know if it is standard practise to fold people's mail in half to post through a letterbox, and why when the items fit in normally??
It's only a game

And that adds time to his route which doesnt need to be added due to you not having an appropiate postbox.
If a postie delivers to a few hundred/thousand a day and even a small percentage do this then it adds time to the route then no doubt you will be crying your mail arrives too late.0 -

I've never seen extra wide letterboxes. Maybe a catflap would do the job instead.0 -

My mail arrives at 1pm if it gets here at all.
I am actually a relatively normal person so no, my mail being late one day wouldn't make me cry. I would imagine that perhaps late postal deliveries could have this effect on unhinged individuals. But you're guess would be as good as mine?
As for making his job more laborious. I guess if he has enough complaints about him, then he won't have to worry about that for too much longer. And I certainly would encourage his customers to make such complaints. The postal service is just that - a service. If they can't do it right, respecting their customers and the mail that they carry then they should be kicked out."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

This user goes around baiting others so please do not rise to it.
Very close to being reported too.0 -
Put in a complaint, and claim for it. I've done it were our mail has been damaged, and got the items replaced, (and eventually the postman was replaced as well, so it's worth doing).0
