Small PAD of 42p for me today which is the leftovers from my weekly spend challenge.

Had to ring A & L this morning to activate my new (replacement) card. On the letter that came with it they said ask about BT rates we may be able to beat any other cards you have - so I thought, hmm, I'll give it a try!

They spent 10mins trying to sell card insurance etc and then I asked them - I was told I could have 29.9%!!! Are they nuts :rotfl:?! I told him it was extortion and that I didn't need that kind of offer!

Ah well, fingers crossed for the lottery tonight :o.

I'm intending to join all of you PADders from Monday when the long awaited pay day finally arrives. I've had enough of a struggle just getting by from day to day up until now without being able to do a PAD. However, I wanted to ask a question. How do you deal with this - do you put your PAD into a pot and then use it at the end of the month to pay your debt or do you actually make the payment online each day? I'm jsut trying to work out what's best for me. I worry, if I put it in a pot, if I get short at the end of the month I'll dig into it and then, I won't have done my PAD very well at all ... Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Still laughing at that photo - well sort of laughing and grimacing at the same time ... it's just not right is it? :)

    Hi and welcome

My bank has has an online facility and I have set up my credit cards as payees. I just log on everyday and send an online payment through eveyday. Well almost everyday....my pads have been as small as 1p well actually zero but have hit the high fifties too. My pad is for payments on top of my regular monthly minimums or fixed payments that I have set up. But others do work differently from this, its really up to you. I hope that this has been of some help and welcome onboard.
Oh I should warn you that this is addictive.
    Good luck with your pads.

Hiya Sazzab, I am knew to this padding lark but it really gets you going, I think a lot do it different ways. For me I am the same as you, so I round up/down my OD to the nearest £5 each day and write it in my bank book and once a week pay it over to my CC, that way I am not tempted to spend it, if it becomes a big (hopeful) amount.

Oh and Tobedebtfree is so right, totally addictive and these guys are a real nice bunch, like a family, I only started 8th June this year

Hi all, 50p to Barclaycard today.

Nightshift is killing me - last one tonight!:j Got home at 6am this morning and was so tired and achey I could have cried. Had a bath and nearly fell asleep in it. :o

Thankyou both for letting me know the different ways to do this. I've just been and counted up some loose change I had hanging around so I figure I may as well start now as I'm home for the rest of the weekend so I won't be needing it :)

I guess today is my first day PADing. So for my first day:
    £4.00

:) I have no doubt at all that I'll get addicted to it the same as the rest of you :) And I have to agree, every thread I've contributed to so far (less than a week) I have met lovely people and it has made such a difference to my whole outlook. What a great place this is and great people too. Thankyou all for being so welcoming :)
