    Hi Guys,

I'm struggling to come up with ideas for next months shopping...could someone please offer me some assistance?? OH justs tells me to 'buy what I want' but I can't come up with anything that's low fat but cheap! It's no wonder that it takes me hours to do the shopping!

Hi hun. I've been doing low fat / low sugar on a budget for a good few weeks now! I've been meal planning for 2 weeks ahead and then writing out my shopping list based on that. The Old Style board has really useful ideas eg a handful of oats in a bolognaise thickens it up and makes it go a long way. I then freeze half for a meal the following week.

I've been watching portion sizes, eating wholewheat pasta and rice and adding extra veg or salad to bulk meals out. Oatmeal crackers are low GI and i have cottage cheese or a bit of philadelphia on there for snacks. Fresh fruit with natural yoghurt is nice. I allow myself 1 real treat a day when my LO is in bed such as choccie or an ice cream - i'm not into self torture by deprivation lol :D

Everything in moderation is the key. There's no point going on a diet that you can't maintain for life. I've also started going swimming. Prior to hitting 30 i could cut down on my bread intake for a couple of weeks and the weight would drop off. Since then exercise seems to be a necessity as well as health-ish eating.

I love being preggers, i can stick my tummy out as much as i like without cringing :p
    Good luck ;)

Can you please put me down for £4 PAD today, £2 to Next and £2 to Vanquis - was naughty and bought some stuff on my Next account,:o but in my defence I did need it as its workout-type-stuff as I'm hoping to start running to get fit and lose weight.
Had a big chat with OH today and to get him motivated to get debt free and saving, we're going to look at the houses I like today :j:j

That's good to hear Catchooky. Let us know how you get on ;)
One step at a time ;)

Hopeful - I totally agree having no money is quite depressing  it's friday and all I'm wishing is it was next friday so I have some money again and just realised its 3 weeks today to my birthday, that's another depressing thought!

A father watched his youg daughter playing in the garden. He smiled as he reflected on how sweet and pure his little girl was. Tears formed in his eyes as he thought about her seeing the wonders of nature through innocent eyes. Suddenly she just stopped and stared at the ground
He went over to see what work of God had captured her attention. He noticed she was looking at two spiders mating.
Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?" she asked.
"They're mating, " her father replied.
"What do you call the spider on top?" she asked
"Thats a Daddy Longlegs." her father answered.
"So, the other one is a Mommy Longlegs?" the little girl asked.
As his heart soared with joy of such a cute and innocent question he replied "No dear, Both of them are Daddy Longlegs."
The little girl, looking puzzled, thought for a moment, then took her foot and stomped them flat.
"Well, we're not having any of that gay !!!! in our garden." she said

    Hi mswan :hello:

You could join Quidco, check out MS Old Style (if you haven't already) and I always pick up good tips from other people's diaries.....
There are sooooo many ingenious ways to save/make a bit extra - you should take a look!
Also, keep PADding. Even if you can't always pad - some don't - but the thread does keep you motivated and on the straight and narrow ;)

    You're not alone - it's Reading/Leeds next week and I REALLY want to go - but can't...
Nevermind, when we're all debt free, we can board the PAD wagon and go on a World tour of Festivals! (I quite fancy Coachella if we can chuck in a flight as well :D)
