    Aww thanks guys!

A slap on the cheek and a pat on the cheek in equal measure:rotfl:

Angelic - the truth hurts, but you're right. Self-control is something I lack when it comes to spending, but it IS the only way to be debt free. Thanks;)

Thanks Sue and Penelope, it is hard to break the habit of a lifetime. I can be "good" for a while, then I think "Right! I've been good - now I need to buy something".
I come from a very thrifty family (tight I call 'em). My parents make/build everything themselves and always get bargains. I think I've just naturally rebelled against that and think "To hell with it!"

I have stopped buying clothes willy-nilly and defo talk myself out of buying things now that previously I'd have bought without thinking, but I guess I need even more self-control....

    Thanks Ladies :)xx

The following is typed in the nicest possible way - I'm not typing using a lecturing tone, honestly!

Everyone needs a wee something every now and again to spur them on but that something doesn't have to be a £140 mirror!!

Don't try to justify purchases when you're in shops (along the lines of -well, I like it and it's sunday tomorrow so I'll have to get it to wear it to church) I've found that it makes it easier not to buy things!

Anyone can give you advice or a gentle push in the right direction but you know that you want the debt free life that you've been dreaming about everyday for months (or maybe years) so when it comes down to it, it's only you that can help yourself.

Yeah but you should see it Angelic - it FIT!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thankfully I no longer go to church - there's not enough time for me to confess my sins! But seriously though, I ca talk myself out of those purchases. The holiday clothes were a necessity - granted, I could have bought less....

I honestly didn't take that as lecturing. If I wanted you to mind your own business, I wouldn't have posted it. I guess I'm trying to "out" myself in order to wake myself up to reality. So sincerely, thanks - I appreciate your concern ;) (Now lay off the cakes you! :p) x

(sighs) yeah I know it's for a reason but could you not at least allow me one wee cake?? It was pure hell watching OH tuck into freshly baked scones with butter and cream cakes

It doesn't matter about the initial weight loss as I feel better and I know I'm doing o.k so even if it's just a pound I'd be happy!

Ban him, naughty man :rotfl::rotfl:Make him do the diet with you :rotfl:

I am glad you are feeling great, its shows that you are doing something right ;) Are you feeling less podged up??? its the bread or lack of it

    Well.....

I might have posted on 9th July to say that I was back for good but alas I have not posted all month!!!

Anyway to slip in before the end I have PAD of £40 to OH's Amazon card (which is actually only a Halifax card as Amazon and Halifax are no longer working together - guess they have had a tiff!!)
