:D Thanks all for the Happy Birthdays! We are going to La Tasca tonight with the 50% off voucher so still being MSE. Got some Hotel Chocolat chocs from my OH - yum yum.

My pad today is 50p as still a bit skint.

Good Luck for your interview Andy. :T

Danko - I would take the LOB rate - I think I might ask Barclaycard about this once I clear my card as OH has a Capital One card with £900 on it at 34.9%.

I feel like I've forgotten someone. :o Congrats to catchooky on the agency job. :j

You should be OK I think DT. At worst, they might add a little bit of interest. Just make sure it's all cleared before 31/8 or you may get nobbled for the 5%. Even if you can't clear it by then, try to pay as much as possible because the 5% is only slapped on the unpaid bit.
You may be aware of this but it is possible to set up a bill payment via internet banking from your bank (making sure that you quote your tax reference). You don't have to actually visit the HMRC website to pay it. You do get a proper receipt though from HMRC if you go to their website though. I did consider making advance payments of £x per month. The trouble is that income can be so variable when self-employed and it only needs a few delays with incoming cheques to ensure that you can't meet the direct debit. Much better to pay some when I choose to because at least I know I have the money then.

I already pay by online banking and it will only be a few days just need the cheque being paid in on 31st July to clear, so no danger of the penalty just read the MSE article that the interest rate is 2.5% so I can live with that if they charge me. Yes I think the DD can be a dangerous route and it would have caught me out if I set one up so glad I didn't. Also still expecting bill to be reduced but they haven't amended the statement yet so I will have to keep checking.

I have today gone into overdraft as expected  but at least it will only be for a couple of weeks but I must try and stop this happening next time - the problem of only being paid every 3 months - how I got into debt in the first place :o

  • Evening All,

Day off work today for me today so feeling very chilled and relaxed. I had a medical for a new job today and passed that so I'm now playing the waiting game for them to do background checks and hopefully formally offer me a position.

Good luck for tomorrow Andy and congrats on the new job catchooky!

    Also, Happy Birthday to sashybo!

PaD for me today is £39.50.

    Hi all!!!

Just popping in to update.......some good news, I have lost *2lb* this week so got rid of the one I gained, plus another one :D:j It must be the food at Nandos last night, obviously need to go more often

However, to put it in perspective, I still can't fit into the new crops I bought off eBay that came today, the bigger size I had is now too big, but these are too small  More weight loss needed methinks!!:D

Other amazing news - & I could do with your fainting smiley here Terri - we got paid on time for the first time for YEARS today!!! Couldn't beleive it, I am so used to trying to juggle the money I can't get my head round it at all...looks like business is really picking up too & I am really hoping to PAD big style & bust those debts into smithereens. I was just debating which debt to start with - as per my snowball calc- when I decided to check the rates, only to find Evil Egg has upped their rate via stealth,on both our cards - also had a letter from M&S today doing the very same thing & Virgin AS WELL. They should be wearing masks & riding horses these people:mad::mad::mad:

Sorry about that, just had to vent but it teaches me a lesson - never let yourself get in that position again! So tomorrow I am going to check all the interest rates again & get going with it. Thanks for motivation peeps, I know without this forum I would be keeping my head in the sand. So, for today my PAD is £500 to LLoyds o/d please DT:D

    Evening guys and girls! :hello:

Very happy birthday to you Sashybo.

I'm really made up with my favourite online crew and all the good luck messages, you are the best!! (ex)HR lady Danko - I have been practicing all those competency based questions!

Its in the morning, but I might not have time to log on tomorrow afterwards as I'm heading back oooop north for a wedding bash. My all new MSE skills helped me get a £12 return with Virgin! :money:Will be back Sunday to catch up on the madness if not.

I have just logged on to HSBC and made some PADs for your weekend spreadsheet DT please....

    FRI £12
    SAT £2
    SUN £5

Also had a check of my credit report and repair is well underway. Fingers crossed for a balance transfer later in the year....

Low PADs weekend as I don't know whether its a freebie bar....Depends how much the beers are if spends are required! I hope NOT to make an extra PAD for once though as they are a great couple and deserve to save the cash for their honeymoon or my future godson! (he'll be a Leicester supporter!)

Anyone fancy a bet on how many posts I miss between now and Sunday if I cannot log on? I am going for at least 70...!
