There maybe a possibility, if the other creditors take offence. Is the debt currently on the DMP? You may get around it if they offer to a cheap F&F?

how will the other creditors find out? sorry i have no idea when it comes to this. The debt is on the DMP, how would i get them to offer me a F&F? x

Hey Twitty, If only I had found something under my pillow other than last weeks hanky!! Thank you so much for your words of support, OH is going to call BOS 2moro on a rare afternoon off. They did charge interest by mistake at the start, so maybe they will reconsider.
Did you see the BBC 'money' item during Breakfast this morning? They had this guy on from CCS, who said that (I think the sum is about right) 25% of people who applied for DMPs couldn't afford them? OMG, what is going to happen to those poor people, I can't even imagine where we would be now without starting out with Payplan.
Well pet, off for another 'trundle' on with life!!:rotfl:

'If only I had found something under my pillow other than last weeks hanky!! ' - Oh euch!!!! And I was just going to get my tea!
No, I didn't see the item but OMG my heart bleeds for those who start a DMP but can't carry it through.
It's not just about money is it? It degrades and breaks down relationships, families, homes, children doesn't it?
Thank goodness we can 'meet' here and ask serious questions, have a rant or be as silly as we want without any one judging us.
    Hope you got something sorted.

    Hello all!
Been ages since i last posted! Been hanging round on the pet forum of the site haha. Well, my plan is due to end Feb next year (not that all the balances will be cleared or anything!), but it just means that at that time, Payplan write to creditors asking them to write off all added interest, as the balances would be clear if it wasn't for that. Now, i'm not expecting any miracles, but you never know hey!! Lloyds are another thing altogether as many of you that know my history are aware of. Going to be paying them for another 4 years, but main thing is, no interest being charged anymore. So that's a bonus, even though i've lost about £9000 in interest and charges payments to them over the past 5 years. But got to look at the bigger picture. What i'm paying now, goes off the debt. For now though, i've started a lotto and euromillions syndicate at work, and hoping my day comes!! haha :)

I don't know to be honest, probably through a credit check? In anycase, PP are always very twitchy when it comes to F&Fs.

As to how they offer them, you could ask? Otherwise I found with Beneficial Finance (And most of my other creditors) offer me F&Fs at anytime, should I wish to take up the offer.

HI all, just a quicky i know its frowned upon in a DMP but i have a debt with littlewoods for £150 if i pay it off will i be kicked off the DMP?

    thanks
    Tash

With CCCS, on the occasion when I had a bonus from work, I used it to fully pay off one debt (can't remember now if it was a reduced amount or the full amount), then kept the monthly repayments the same so that all other credits started getting an increased amount. Technically it is against the 'rules' of a DMP, but provided you are making every effort to pay off the debt, it has to be a good thing, surely! This is one there is always a bit of debate about, but I say do it. :)

:T Update from me! As most of you are aware wrote to all my creditors stating that I am taking over doing my own DMP, this whole process started 8/3. Got first reply yesterday from Northern Rock who have accepted till April next year :T. Feeling very good today.

Hope all have a stress free day, take care.

I started this journey in Oct '07, with a debt of £65K, (down now to date just under £44K) was with a DMP company (paying a fee), although to be honest have no complaint with them, payments sent on time, all creditors freezing interest bar Llloyds. I have not been feeling totally comfortable with paying a fee to be honest, as I just kept thinking can get my debt free date closer. Anyho...spoke to all my creditors (I do speak with them, as to be honest I find it helps), asking them if they would be willing to still freeze interest, charges if I went on my own and all said they have no objections to people managing their own DMP, as long as their agree with E&I, creditors are: Egg, Abbey, MBNA, Cahoot, N/R, Llloyds, credit card, loan and O/D, banked with these for over 20years and have been the most unhelp, bas%%ds I have come across ).

I sent an e-mail to my DMC and was promptely given a call to try and change my mind, but told them to :p. Letters/E&I send (taken from National debtline) on 8/3 and the rest is history. Hoping the others are as helpful as their are getting a higher amount than before. I pay £800.00 per month across all creditors.

    Thanks,
    MM2
