By the way, don't think Ian has run off with Dolly Parton, he was the only one of her triplets that was bottle - fed. You can't beat the old uns'. !

!!!!!!?? Yes I'm still here, but it's been very quiet on here (I guess that's a good thing?)...

    Hope you're all well!

Did you see the BBC 'money' item during Breakfast this morning? They had this guy on from CCS, who said that (I think the sum is about right) 25% of people who applied for DMPs couldn't afford them? OMG, what is going to happen to those poor people, I can't even imagine where we would be now without starting out with Payplan.

I saw that too, I guess the only other option is some form of insolvency...unpalatable though that may be.

On the plus side at least they have gone through the process of phoning CCCS so are at least facing up to the problem. There's always a solution, extreme or otherwise.

    Hi everyone

Hope everyone is well. Just wanted to ask for a bit of advice if anyone can help me... pretty please?

My DMP is now coming up to one year old. I have 10 creditors, 2 of which (NatWest and Brilliant Gift Shop) have very small balances (BGS is now under £200, NatWest just over £200 but they are still adding interest ) I will be in the position around about May/June time to pay these off so I can offer more money to my biggest creditors (Citi Card who I owe about £670 to and Littlewoods about £580)
Should I ask about an F&F or should I just clear the balance? By that point BGS will be about £169 which I could probably manage, NatWest about £230 probably. Kensington havent suggested asking for an F&F but I dont know if theres a lot of point on balances that small.
    Help would be appreciated please!
    Thanks, Mrs_R x

It's always possible to offer F&Fs, regardless of the debt amount. I guess it depends on if you can afford it. I'd like to think I'd like to pay off all my debt, however, if they offer it, and you have the money available, then why not? I'd prefer to pay it all off in one go though...

    First contact!

Natwest CC wrote a letter thanking me for the information regarding CCCS and very helpfully included info about the Balance, arrears, terms of repayment etc. to give to CCCS.

Hopefully this means they will accept the DMP without too much fuss.

Second contact was Bank of Scotland overdraft sending back the £1 token payment and CSSS template letter with a short note saying "please sign letter" :wall:

I'm not really sure whether to send it back again saying there should be no need for a signature or just not bother and wait for CCCS to contact them. An overdraft after all doesn't have a repayment schedule as such.

I wouldn't sign the letter at all, but give CCCS a call and inform them of what BOS did.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel.....I just need to find the switch.
  • HI all, just a quicky i know its frowned upon in a DMP but i have a debt with littlewoods for £150 if i pay it off will i be kicked off the DMP?

There maybe a possibility, if the other creditors take offence. Is the debt currently on the DMP? You may get around it if they offer to a cheap F&F?
