  • Hi all,

Just noticed from my Barclaycard statement that they are not charging me any interest.

Although Payplan site says agreement to their offer is still pending and they call me every fortnight.

Do you think this might mean that they HAVE accepted??

    Thanks guys, CC xx

  • Hi all,

    After some advice please.

My DMP has been running for 5 months now & seems to be going well - only 2 creditors still charging interest.

Hubby is struggling at the moment as his earning have dropped considerably as he's no longer being offered overtime. CCCS have suggested he consider bankruptcy, which came as a bit of a shock

I realise that if he goes down this route we would lose the house but I have some questions:

    1. Would I have to do the same (bankruptcy) or could I just continue with my DMP?
    2. How would not having a house as an asset affect my DMP?
    3. Following sale of the house I would have a small lump sum (my half of the equity) - would this affect DMP (it would be nowhere near enough to pay off all creditors!)?

    Any advise?

    Thanks

  • well Ladies and Gentlemen of the Feb 10 DMPers

Egg just phoned to query the cancelling of our DDs. I explained that we were starting a DMP and she looked it up for me. "Oh yes", no problem, we've accepted CCCS's offer and we will be stopping interest and charges!!!

Fell off the sofa with relief. Phoned the OH and he is prophet of doom, they won't all be that easy...... I am just grateful one was and it really helps that it was the first. Hope Egg are having a good day and spread some more cheer and good news.

Hi CC, Payplan site says that our offer to Sainsburys Visa is still pending, even though they agreed at least a month back and statement shows interest at 0%. Sent a copy of the letter to PP, but it hasn't been updated yet. I'm guessing that they are snowed under, being Jan and all that!!

I hope that if they aren't charging interest, it's safe to assume all is well.
Some of my creditors took a while, sending notices, etc, first. Hope this helps!

    Hi CC
Barclaycard are one of ours, and we've never heard a peep from them! They stopped charging interest on month 2 of our DMP, so it sounds to me like they've accepted yours too......well done!

  • Thanks trying to stay positive, your post gives me optimism. Today has been very difficult, about 10 calls from halifax alone, even though they have been advised of cccs ref on the phone and in writing. Automated calls over and over again, so annoying and stressful, have rang bt and had call prefererencing put on line for free, apparantly this stops 91% of automated calls, I will wait and see. Citi cards rang at 8.45pm, they had rang saturday too at 8.30am, i warned them not to do this anymore as i regard it as harrasement. Any tips greatly appreciated ; )

I found that once you speak to them they stop ringing, tell them your CCCS reference number and their phone number and they are happy .. think it sort of reassures them you have not just stopped paying and about to leave the country! You will still get a few phone calls but nothing compared to when you dont answer them. I just got my first call from city tonight after hearing nothing for months, they told me as long as I continue to make my payments each month to cccs they will freeze intrest for another year ... wasnt really sure why they bothered to ring really!

I notice, certainly on the PP website that some payments are pending most months, I'd imagine that's due to the fact that they 'accept' every month.

    Hope that helps?

  • I've posted on this thread a few times regarding the hassle i was getting from barclaycard/mercers/calder financial despite being in a DMP with Payplan. It now seems that Barclaycard have passed the first of my two accounts onto an independent company called Debt Managers Ltd based in Edinburgh, i haven't had any commnunication to say they have done this, however today i received a Notice of Formal Demand stating that they are acting as agents for Barclays. Its the usual type of letter, saying that i've not complied with the default notice recently sent to me and they now want the balance in full to be paid immediately blah blah.... It also says that Statements will no longer be sent an interest is being charged on the outstanding balance at the rate of 1% per month.

Just wondering if anyone else had been passed to them from Barclaycard and what to expect now?
