Oh, finally a bit of a result! Halifax says they can stop interest and charges if I am working with a DMP agency, like Payplan or CCCS, or even if I am doing it myself and using a self-help pack. So I will be writing back to them this weekend and informing them that I am indeed using a self-help pack and requesting the interest and charges be stopped.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

It now seems that Barclaycard have passed the first of my two accounts onto an independent company called Debt Managers Ltd based in Edinburgh, i haven't had any commnunication to say they have done this, however today i received a Notice of Formal Demand stating that they are acting as agents for Barclays. Its the usual type of letter, saying that i've not complied with the default notice recently sent to me and they now want the balance in full to be paid immediately blah blah.... It also says that Statements will no longer be sent an interest is being charged on the outstanding balance at the rate of 1% per month.
Just wondering if anyone else had been passed to them from Barclaycard and what to expect now?
Hi, i got a overdraft with barclays and i am also in a dmp, It has been recently passed to Debt Mangers Ltd and i also recieved the letter you had. Both myself and my debt management company has spoken to them and they requested a statement of my budget and will get back to me with any queries and to see what we are offering them is suitable so just waiting to here from them now. It dont matter if it aint suitable for them because its all i got so if they dont like it they can stick it where the sun dont shine :rotfl:
I would not worry hun as get your dmp to contact them and its more likely that is what they will need next is your statement of outgoings and incomings to determine that your offer is fair to themA bargin is only a bargin if its needed not wanted :money:0 -
I notice, certainly on the PP website that some payments are pending most months, I'd imagine that's due to the fact that they 'accept' every month.
Hope that helps?
Yes, Ian, as you say, they are more than willing to 'accept' our money!!
I was just like CC, watching the Justabank website to see if our initial offer had been accepted, when in fact, the reality was that we received letters from the companies long before PP knew anything about it.
I was talking about offers, not monthly payments. We all have experienced companies sending nasty letters and calling, even after we have coughed up what we can afford each month. It's such a relief when they start to finally get that we are trying our best to pay them back!:):j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -
Ah, so you mean Accepting Your Offer, rather than accepting your offer.
I really don't know when that happens. Maybe it's when they update their system and move the flag that says 'non paying debtor scum', over to 'trying their hardest to pay off their debt after we naughty creditors helped to get them in this position'...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Thanks hun, its the same here really, Barclays/Mercers etc didn't like the offer and they had to just put up with it.... hopefully this new company will finally get the message that i have nothing else to give them and just accept it! lol
Good luck with yours0 -

Thanks Ian (I think!). Now I'm confused.com!!! Probably because the only person to mention payments was, er, you. I'm sure you wouldn't have posted that reply at the top of this page had you read both posts from CC and me. It was all pretty straight forward, and I'm Irish so I have an excuse when I'm being daft!!
Hopefully CC will have got some reassurance anyway.:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -

Thanks hun and hope it all works out for you too. We are all on a long road here but hopefully the road will become smoother as time goes on xxxA bargin is only a bargin if its needed not wanted :money:0 -

Thankyou for brightening up my day! Your comments made me :rotfl:

Hi all,
Just wanted to offer a bit of support to all those newbies out there. This time last year my life was getting to breaking point and I didnt know what to do but all is well, touch wood! CCCS have been great and DMP is going ok, the train is starting to get closer to the tunnel light very slowly. All creditors have been accepting with reduced interest or none, Egg have passed to Cabot who have actually been ok. Had a few issues with Next, like the rest of the world due to them taking ever to cash cheques, but as this is my smallest balance it will be gone in two months, just dont want to pay them too much!!!!
I have been lucky enough to get a promotion in the 6 months of the DMP so was able to increase payments quickly but cant see it happening again in the near future but the struggle has been worth it and enjoying the challenge.

Just a quick update and a I hope a little bit of encouragement for all new DMP people. Been on my DMP for 6 months now but living on the budget since last April.
Haven't been paid since well before Christmas (and still nearly a week to go.) But there is half a tank of petrol in the car, a bit of cash in my purse and sufficient food to last-even a bottle of wine.
This is the first time in many a long year the plastic hasn't supported the long 6 week haul between paydays, and what a wonderful feeling
And even better knowing that there is nothing added to C/C bills that already seemed like silly money anyway!
Make no mistake it really is hard but it can be done. And the feeling that you are out of the 'put it on the card' mentality gives satisfaction that is priceless.
