There is life beyond those urges to spend. If I hadn't have done a DMP, as I have no money till Monday, I'd have gone to the bank and without another thought I'd have withdrawn £100 from the cc to spend over the weekend. now I'm actually looking forward to challenging myself not to spend, and thinking of things to do without spending a fortune. just arranged to go for a walk round a country park with a firend and have a bbq where everyone brings something along and their own booze : ) whereas before I would have gone to Asda and wacked it all on cc and the party would have been on me! lets hope the enjoyment lasts ; )DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Grr!! HSBC have now giving up calling me, and have instead taken to texting me asking me to call them......so glad I'm changing my mobile no soon!!
There is nothing to talk about that hasn't already been discussed, just wish they'd stop the harassment already!
How's everyone on this fine day?!
They are not allowed to do this under the OTF guidelines for debt collection. Leaving messages asking you to call them without giving an explanation is a no no. You can also send them a letter demanding that they remove your mobile number (I have just done this as Lloyds have started the txting nonsense).0 -
Thanks STPO....wasn't aware of the OFT guidelines....I shall be firing off another letter to them in due course!:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

hi everyone
just got our cards for our coop cashminder account-now just need some money in it and we are ready to roll:rotfl:.Interesting to see CCCS limits on spending for essentials-we have one car,but allowed only £140 for fuel, which will be a struggle-however online remedy would only allow us this much:rolleyes:-may ring up to see if I can adjust it-it costs £80 to fill the tank!(minibus, but needed due to kids).DMP not due to start till 1st august so may be able to tweak things

Hi all,
I haven't been posting on here for a long while, but I have kept up to date with all that everyone has been posting. I have come home today from work to find a letter from a debt collectors about my Halifax credit card. I have been on an arrangment with Halifax and I am doing my own DMP. Halifax have not sent me a termination of my agreemenr with them or anything like that. The debt collectors woulf like me to phone them for the full amount. Do you think that I should phone them and send them my soa? The amount that they want is £1934 which I haven't got.

Evening All :hello:
Gosh, a new thread already ... where have I been
Well boys and girls ... I've been recovering ... from shock. We discovered two weeks ago that we are expecting baby 3 in January 2010. Needless to say, it wasnt quite plannedbut I'm okay with it now. Hubby just thinks he's superman full stop now:rotfl:
Now I know its wonderful to be growing a baby. What's not so wonderful is being on a DMP and having absolutely no other means to ... shhh ... credit :rotfl::rotfl:
The maternity pay policy at work is pants so I get into panic mode wondering how on earth we're going to manage. I dont think that we can change our CCCS plan to include a "baby to be" fund?! We barely ever have anything over as it is to be able to save anything substantial between now and the baby arriving. We have absolutely nothing left from our previous baby - oh, we have DD 11 and DS 5 so quite a gap between them.
I know that friends and relatives will be quite generous and we've had offers of some baby things already, so that's something taken care of but my biggest worry is how on earth we will pay all the bills on one wage and statutory maternity pay?
As soon as I get some more energy in the evenings/weekends I'm going to try my best to ebay as much as I can to hopefully start making headway on a baby fund. Any other ideas peeps?
I dont know ... just when you think you are getting somewhere in getting rid of the debts something else comes along. We've been on our plan for a year now and had only just started getting the overall total down. I dont even know whether CCCS will let us just pay the minimum £5 for each creditor whilst I'm on leave - they may tell us to b*gger off and fend for ourselves
Sorry, I meant to say "HI" to everyone properly. So many new names and people to get to know. Nice to see some more familiar names still around too

Hi there
I'd give them a phone, I have 3 accounts with HBOS so same company I think. All 3 of my accounts were passed on and I was only notified via a letter from the DCA demanding full payment. When I phoned the DCA they told me that HBOS hadn't informed them that I was on a DMP, so I went through the whole story again and offered the same payments I was making to HBOS, they were happy and haven't heard since apart from a letter from the DCA accepting my proposal.
I also never received a default or termination of account notice for any of the accounts.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Sunshine & family :j:j
If we all waited until we could afford a baby then the human race would be in trouble. I'm sure CCCS will help all that they can. :TLBM: 20/01/09 Total Debt: £104,050Curr Bal (25/08/12): £46,109 (55.6% Paid):jDMP Start Date: 01/03/090 -

We will pay it back at a lower APR over a shorter period. On paper it looks like the answer to our prayers as the monthly amount we would pay back is less then we're paying them now.
However I can't shake the feeling that there must be a catch somewhere. This is LTSB after all.
DON'T DO ANYTHING RASH!!!
Please please check out the 'Reclaim payment protection' thread on this forum (you will see it in the main section) There are some fantastic people there who will help and guide you every step of the way when trying to re-claim your ppi back. They helped me claim back over 9k of ppi and more hopefully. :T
It's a load of bull about not being able to cancel ppi on your loan, it's cause they damn well know it was unsuitable for your needs in the first place and therefore mis-sold it to you. Your so called 'rebate' will be minute compared to what you have already paid them.
If you want help with your finances then I would suggest you continue with CCCS and setting up your DMP and start the steps for a claim for mis-selling of ppi.
Don't listen to Lloyds, they are full of it and are well known for their aggressive ppi sales techniques.
