Thanks, hopefully once they've received the first couple of payments they'll lay off a bit. I too have banked with them for over 15 years and have only missed payments for the first time last month. I hold my hands up and admit that we have gotten ourselves into the mess we are in, just wish they would be a little more accomodating and a little less threatening when we are asking for help in trying to pay it back.
Anyway, moan over, thanks again for your kind words. Think I may be climbing the walls if it wasn't for this board and all the lovely people on it. x
Hope I didn't upset you, we too got our selves into this mess and didn't want to sound as though I was gloating was just really ellated as I was dreading (pooping my pants infact) the response from Lloyds!
Good luck and I really do hope they will change their mind for you, we are still waiting for them to reply to the other 3 debts we have with them....

Just wondering if anyone can help...
I have received several statements without interest added and letters to accept the DMP but the payment dates are 05/18/20/23 of the month do you think I ought to try and send payments prior to the first payment from CCCS (which I understand will be around the 25 of the month) so that I keep them sweet, then I will always be a month ahead? (I had a slightly larger wage this month and birthday money which I can use if I need to) Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this.
Many thanks MM xSlimming World Newby 75.5lbs for starters, another 75lbs after that!:rotfl:One small step for me one giant leap for my backside!;):rotfl:

I did it last month for Next, but that was all. I was still getting calls before creditors received the CCCS payments and it might prevent that but otherwise probably wouldn't make a huge difference in the long run.

Have a great birthday!
Couldn't agree more, we made the mistake of paying out far too much beginning of September and left ourselves with very little to live on.
Just got carried away with trying to start paying back as much as we could.
The companies don't seem to care cos they call you anyway!
Next seem to be playing ball with us so far, fingers crossed.:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -
Hi all,
Everyone seems in a generally positive mood this evening. I have managed to complete my review with CCCS, at last. Didnt think I was ever going to get it finished due to work commitments but was desperate to do.
The counsellor was wonderful so nice and was really good with making some suggestions on my budget. My petrol has gone up and is now higher than average but when I explained I do nearly 60 miles a day for work she was fine with this. I was also told I dont spend enough on food and I did mention that I am an MSE / cooking from scratch convert :j and I still think I spend too much money on food.
I have also just written a letter to all my creditors to advise them of the situation and also asking those that havent to consider stopping interest as this should now take the DMP to 5 yrs.
Keep well all.

Hi Jodan,
It is good to see you on this thread as I have been reading your other thread with interest.
I know you have been having problems with Barclays and just wanted to pass on my experince. I too have mortgage, reserve and secured with Barclays.
I have actually kept my banking with Barclays and I now just have the basic account with them (I do have another account with Natwest for housey stuff). My wages still go in there and I am also paying off my reserve and so far Barclays have not offset any of the funds, maybe this is not usual but as far as I am aware CCCS have some sort of agreement with them!!! All my accounts have defaulted with them now, o/d and 2x personal loans and when I have spoken to collections about it they said they may start doing something if my CCCS payments stopped for any reason.
Not sure if this helps but just wanted to let you know.

Hi all,
Just popping by to say - I know at the start it feels like your debt will never go down - but it really does
It takes a few months for the interest etc to be stopped - so it tends to go up a bit in those first few months (be warned, stick with it) - but after that, it feels so good to see your debt totals start to fall.
At the moment, I've paid 40% of my debts - so it's going down - still feels like I'll never really get to the end of itBut I now owe less than my yearly salary
From today (if First Direct have kept their word), I should have an extra default and my only debt being charged interest (6% preferential rate, but still the only one with interest) - should be passed to debt collection and interest should then stop
I do hope they've kept their word - It'll save me about £30 interest each month and mean my debt free date comes a tiny bit nearerworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
