Hi everyone. It looks like a lot of us are starting on a DMP over the next few weeks, so good luck to all of us. So far I've had letters about direct debits being cancelled but that's all. I expect letters will come about payments will come over the next month as I make token payments to everyone. I must admit I'm a bit worried about that, my instinct is to divide up what I will be paying under the DMP, but I understand that if I do that it might mess up anything CCCS do, so am I better off putting that amount aside? I suppose like most of us here I want to pay as much as I can, so to deliberately not pay things just seems dishonest.
Also I included my small OD with HSBC but when my salary goes in I won't have an overdraft anymore, so it seems wrong to include it on the DMP - has anyone else had this?
I would think that it would be ok to keep your HSBC account out of the DMP if the overdraft will be paid off once your salary goes in, if and only if your other debt is not connected to HSBD in any way.
If it is get out quick and open a safe account.
If it's safe I wouldn't include it because if you do you'll have to get a new account anyway.
Put any spare amount you have to one side for now, it's good to build up an emergency fund before your DMP kicks in.
Good luck with it all.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Thanks Kudox, That's what I thought about HSBC - 'luckily' I didn't qualify for their cc and I don't have a loan so I think the accounts safe. I do have debts with M&S but I asked on here before and it looks like they will be unconnected to the HSBC account. If I'm wrong, will let everyone know!LBM July 2009DMP Start 1 September 2009DMP Support Number 3350

At the mo I am still waiting for the CCA to come from them and I do my own DMP. I am just wondering if I just pay Moorcroft my monthly installment or should I pay citi (the people who sold the debt onto Moorcroft) for August payment.
Moorcroft have put my account on hold till they get the CCA from citi, to send to me.
I am a little confused now on who I pay
Hi ya
I have loads of experience with Moorcrap, just pay them direct, and keep a note of the payment etc. Make sure you communicate only with them in writing, write and tell them this, letter only, no telephone contact. PM me if you need any further help with Moorcroft, I can help, i know these clowns well!!!0 -

I HATE NATIONWIDE - Well the agent who called me this morning.
She was horrible, and I have to say that she made a grown man cry when I got off the phone.
I was on the phone for 40 minutes and had to go through her abuse just to be told that they aren't accepting my monthly payment because my rent and HP are too high.
Here are some of the highlight of the conversation -
'can you get a job' - I'M A TEACHER
'get a lodger'
'Why is your phone bill £40?'
'£20 is too much for clothes buy them in the sale, £8 for hair cut is too much, Professional Subs aren't required'
After every question when I tried to reply she spoke and wouldn't let me speak. I felt totally abused so I got straight on the phone to Payplan who said they would give them a call for me.
I am totally gobsmacked by this woman's tone and attitude. I know i'm in debt to them, as she pointed out on numerous occasions, and she is only doing her job, but surely there is a way to conduct herself.
I pay £78+ to Nationwide a month. Can anyone tell me now that they have rejected the amount what the next step will be? If they keep rejecting will it be passed on to KPR Collections again? The account was sent there previously, or will it go to court? What would happen if it went to court?
Does anyone have any advice on trying to improve the situation?0 -
Hi rugby6ft8
Sorry to hear you've had a bad morning. I presume from what you said that you're on a DMP with Payplan? Good on you for asking them to speak to Nationwide! Hopefully they might be able to soothe the waters a bit.
I am on a DMP, although with CCCS, and started it with good intentions about speaking to creditors, but to be honest they wear you down after a while and, like most (I think) people on this thread, I have now given up speaking to them at length. I either don't answer the phone, or if I do, I simply say, "you've had my DMP budget, you've seen how my debt repayment money is divided fairly between all of my creditors, please speak to CCCS" and then put the phone down. You don't HAVE to speak to anyone you don't want to, so don't let them harass you in this way!
Another things to mention is that they often claim not to have received paperwork, in which case say you'll ask Payplan to re-send it. These agents are there for one thing only, to get money out of you, and some of them don't feel the need to be polite. So don't get into an argument with them - they can't have what you haven't got!!
Finally just to mention, could you go online and take your telephone number off your account details? If all else fails, send them the 'harassment letter' asking them to stop contacting you by phone - it's on the national debtline website.
Hope this helps?!

Angeldust7 wrote: »Hi everyone, I wrote yesterday about HSBC not accepting my offer. Well I spoke to them again today and they're refusing to budge as the minimum they can accept is 1% of my balance as a month payment which is £47. I repeatedly told them I couldn't afford that. They said the default will come into force from the 10th August because of that and action will be taken. What happens now with them? Straight to Debt Collectors? MBNA on the other hand have accepted the lower payments for 3 months and then they say we need to beable to pay more than we are now. If I can get a 2nd job this might be realistic. Just depends on what I can get. They've also refunded the charges for this month which is good.
Hi Angeldust
The default is a normal part of not paying the full minium amount on your card, as per your original arrangement. They'll send you out a 'Notice of Default' sheet as well - be prepared to collect a lot of these, I've got about 15 now :rotfl:. I don't think HSBC are particularly quick to go to their Debt Collection department (I think they're called ?Metropolitan, but it's in-house, not a separate compnay) they like to hassle you for a good 6-12 months before they do that, or so I've heard from long term DMP-ers on this site. Apparently you're more likely to get an agreement with a debt collection agency (DCA) but I haven't got there yet... CCCS have advised me to stay firm, don't let HSBC 'restructure' the loan, and just let CCCS pay them their allocated amount.
On a brighter note, they must be having a good time of it in the complaints debt, because I also have had my charges for the month refunded... wonder what's going on at HQ in Canary Wharf??!!!!!LBM - March 2009, DMP Start - April 2009

After both Halifax and Argos Mastercard saying they'd not heard a peep from my DM company, I've just had it confirmed that Argos Mastercard replied to them on 15 July, and Halifax replied to them last week.
Yet more proof that they're just liars.
Barclaycard just called too, saying they couldn't write to me until I confirmed to them who I was. I said "does your phone do this?" and hung up. Three weeks ago Barclaycard called to confirm that Valour were acting on my behalf.
Valour say it's the end of the month and they'll be trying for over-the-phone payments to boost their bonuses. I'm just gonna keep refusing to confirm my security details and tell them to write to me ... either that or I'm going to say "could you hold the line, please?", then put it on the side and go off and start hanging out my washing/baking a cake/changing the beds ...spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am on a DMP with CCCS and have just received a letter from Metropolitan Collection Services re my credit card debt with HSBC. They are asking me to contact them within 7 days or they may start legal proceedings. I know they are just another HSBC department in disguise but should I contact them or just leave things as they are?
