Totally free nokia 1100 pay as you go

  • Yes - I've just ordered the "Buy a PAYG phone for £30 and get £30 of free calls!"
At least - I have received confirmation of the order

My £30 Easy Mobile phone arrived yesterday (05/04/06) and included advice that, if there was anything wrong with the delivery, a call number must be contacted within 48 hours. There were a few things mentioned in the user guide which were not include in the box:
    1) Invitation to join Club Nokia card
    2) Guarantee card
    3) Sticker A, which should be attached to 1), above and Sticker B, which should be attached to 2), above
    4) Wrist strap
I wasn’t sure of the significance or importance of the above items but, as they should have been part of the package, I followed the instruction to phone the easy mobile call line whereupon I was instructed to contact Nokia.
I pointed out that that I suspected that Nokia would refer me back to the dealer - but went ahead and emailed Nokia. Nokia’s reply:

“Thank you for contacting Nokia Helpline.

“With regard to your email concerning your Nokia 1100, we can advise that you return your handset to the place of purchase and request these items as we do not create the sales packages.

“Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions.

    “With best regards
    UK & Ireland Team
    Nokia Helpline”

As I had already tried easy mobile’s phone line I thought I would try the chat line – which was conveniently available until 8:00pm. When I got through to them I was told repeatedly to try the phone line and “We can’t help you we’re a call centre.” Then I realised that, while the chat line had been available until 8:00pm, the phone line had closed at 6:00pm. I will probably try again tomorrow.
P.S.- when registered the phone was credited with a total of £31.00 worth of calls.
I got through to the chat line today (07/04/06) and the issue was cleared up with "We do not supply those contents". Oh well..
    Update 08/04/2006:
If you recommend a friend to Easymobile both you and your friend receive £5 airtime
  • Yes they should be charged but, as a last resort, what about those emergency wind up chargers (little manual things)?

In my local Sainsburys Savacentre on Saturday they were selling the Nokia 1100 for £19.99. This included £5 airtime. I assume that this would be the case in other areas.

There are a few good things about easyMobile (!!)

One of which is the ability to choose your own number when signing up for a new SIM. However, with this offer or any of them when you buy a phone this is not allowed. They simply allocate any old number to you and you are then forced to use £30 of airtime with a number you might not want?

Possibly they will switch it for you but I guess they will charge you for it (when their SIMs are free this is just daft). All you can do is send the phone back. They will have paid for delivery and return just for a point of warped inflexibility.
  • I really dont get this issue about people wanting a memorable or easy number. Maybe for a business, but then you are unlikely to be using Easy mobile. People will store your number in their phone and will never look at your number, regardless of whether it is some really nice number like 123456

Yes. I just tried their site - 'in stock'. Same offer.

I've got one - the Nokia 1100 - it's an easy to use, bog standard mobile.

    Good offer!!
:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing

Not sure if the 73 in your refers to birth year but add another 10 or more years & then try to remember your number quickly - any help with easy to remember numbers always appreciated by yours truly.....
  • Battery Advice:
Seems like, after charging the phone, you have to remove and re-insert the battery to make it work (at least - for the first charge).
