Hi Not sure where this should go so appologies if this is in the wrong place and please feel free to move it ...lol

I have just seen the newsletter and Martin mentions a mobile Phone that is £30 and you get £30 free credit and I think I can go one better ;)

    http://www.easymobilephones.com/pay-as-you-go/nokia/1600

This phone is £24.99 and comes with £10 Credit
Now that doesn't seem a better deal until ......

If you buy one for £24.99 you get £10 credit so you have payed £14.99 onc you have used the credit.

Then http://www.envirofone.com/phonedetail2.asp?sessionid=&id=4 are offering between £15 & £17 to recycle these phones

As an added bonus if you buy the fone and you OH buys one , you can recomenned them and you both get an extra £5 of calling credit
    https://www.easymobile.com/selfcare/emcontent/services/raf/raf_intro.html

So if you both buy the phone you both get £15 credit in total using the recomenned a friend then you can both recycle and both get about £7 profit for your hassles :rotfl:

Hope thats not to confusing , if so , please someone rewrite it lol

***Board Guide note, I have now merged this post with the original thread regarding this offer ***

Boith are great offers, in addition if you do move to contract, Orange did (still do I think) offer £50.00 credit to your bill, for any old phone, so if you want a contract and haggle you can get a free phone, half price line rental or even better if you ate lucky and £50.00 credit on your bill. It may not appear on your first bill, but should on your second.

I know absolutely nothing about mobile phones, so apologies if I've got this wrong, but this appears to be a £29.99 phone with £30 credit - they're paying you a 1p to buy it!

Be careful with easymobile. Their offers come with a sting if you aren't careful.
There are other links around on MSE about them.
I had one of their sim deals, ten pounds of calls for free I think. When the credit got low I tried to cancel the sim, but they forgot, then took money from the sim for inactivity. It seems you can go overdrawn on the sim, and they will hit you with larger charges, and hound you for the money.
You do not want to leave one of their sims in a glovebox, where you may forget about it, but all the time easymobile are taking little charges, until you go overdrawn, then they get nasty.
    Read their smallprint very cafefully!
They are also doing a twenty pound sim deal now, but I won't touch them again.
  • Out of stock at the moment
  • My phone arrived this morning, ordered yesturday after Martins e-mail. Very easy to register online and yes it has £30 of calls on it....Thakyou.... I will see what happens now?
Mind you either way it still was a cheap phone, but I have read all your advice, and will watch the balance carefully.

Read the small print carefully with not so easy peasy mobile. They will
    1. Charge you to top up.
2.They also levy a charge if you don't use enough minutes.
    3.They charge you to leave.

Ok just to clarify on some of these scare tactics.

Point 1- You can set up an Auto top up free of charge that will replenish your balance everytime your credit drops to below £2. This is free and will not charge you to top up.

Point 2- No charge is levied if you don't use enough minutes. However if your spend is less than £5 is 3 months (equivalent of £1.67 a month) then you will be charged 75p a month until your spend exceeds this amount.

Point 3- I believe you are charged £5 when leaving Easy Mobile. However they currently give you £10 credit free when you buy a sim only.

If you dont plan on leaving Easy mobile, spend more than £1.67 a month, and set up auto refill, there calls are pretty unbeatable on Pay as you go, without having to make a minimum top up each month, at 15p a minute, any network any time, and texts 5p a message any network, whether you send 1 or 300 a month !! :T

But, Easymobile and this deal, or any of their deals doesn't make a good choice for a GRANNIE IN A GLOVEBOX phone.
Because of their charges, this is not the deal for low usage, or to leave around as an emergency phone.
If you are a moderate to high usage customer, shop about using a tarrif finding site.
