I am thinking of having part of the invoice paid by credit card (£200?), will this give me the protection that is talked about and if there are any problems am I only covered up to £200 or the full amount?
Yes, as long as the purchase is over £100, you can pay just £1 by Credit Card and the entire purchase will benefit from Section 75 protection under the Consumer Credit Act.0 -

Thank you NickX.
One question if I may please. The work being done covers a number of items some of which may be under £100 but collectively the work being done is costing over £3000. Am I still covered or is it dependant on the individual cost of the parts replaced?
Not sure I've made myself very clear but hopefully you understand.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you.

I think you will be covered provided each job completed are lumped together on a single invoice.
If each job was split into individual invoices then there may be an issue with sub £100 transactions not being covered by Section 75.0 -

This is where it can get complicated. I heard Marton on tv the other night dicussing something about a kitchen being fitted and each appliance being bought under one invoice, but clearly a cooker, washer, dishwasher, cupboards, drawers etc can be treated seperately. I can't recall his conclusion.
My question:
I have a caravan and my site fees are due - the great news is that after hearing and reading about this I can get the section 75 cover even though this is perhaps classed as a service. Do I need to pay more than £100 of the overall bill or just a proportion to get the full cover for the full amount?

Hi, I just stumbled across these forums and would be most grateful for your advice regarding counterfeit jewellery. In February, I went to Cambodia and purchased what I was led believe was an 18k white gold and yellow sapphire ring. I currently live in South Korea, but am a UK citizen and purchased the ring using my UK RBS Visa. The retailer gave me a certificate of authenticity, which I have kept along with my credit card receipt. The cost of the ring was over £400. Unfortunately, I have since discovered the ring is counterfeit, and would very much like to claim my money back. I contacted RBS but to my horror they told me that since I accepted the certificate as proof of the rings authenticity, there is nothing that can do to claim back my money. Is this true? I thought that on the contrary, the certificate would be proof of fraud?? Any advice on this matter is very much appreciated. -Jeni

Hi
I ordered some bathroom units which had a 16 week delivery date. After 17 weeks I was told the items are no longer available. I have phoned them and they have agreed to a full refund and to reverse the payment. Is there anything I can do as I think they have now gone bust.
thanks in advance

I now have speech problems and sound stupid when I have to say any word with the letter s. there is recess at the back of the bridge and I have found if I fill this with chewing gum my speech is perfect, which proves to me that the design of the bridge is faulty, they will not give me a new bridge and tell me that the guarantee is for workmanship and not for speech, which is a side effect. I paid them £1700 by amazon credit card can I claim this back from the credit company.
Did you get a solution to your problem. I went with this company last year. Spent over £10,000 and have been in constant pain after having implants place. They do not have any aftercare . |I have to pay now to have a cyst and infection removed from behind my nose.:eek:0
