"Write Off" your debt companies

Hi folks
Just looking for a bit of advice. I have been contacted by a company called claim management uk, who have told me that any unsecured credit agreement made before 2007 could be illegal and they can wipe out that debt for me, at no cost to me, the banks would pay for the cost. However they want to put the legal costs of £299 on the card that they will be claiming against. Am I being really naive here or is this a realistic possibilty? I have a loan that still has £8k on it and a £3.6k credit card that would be amazing to get rid of, but i am not sure if the lure of that idea is clouding my better judgement.
Has anyone heard of or used this company before?
Cheers for any help0 -
Avoid... avoid... avoid!! You will never see the £299 again and pretty certain you won't get the debt written off and you may be liable for any further court costs.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hi ted
Steer well clear and save your £299.
Instead take a look at this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2305463 but be warned if you are currently up to date with payments and go down this route it will seriously damage your credit rating.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi,
I was called earlier in the week by a company called "Delete UK Ltd."
as im not allowed to post links to moneysaving expert (because im a new user), goto delete-uk [dot] co [dot] uk
I am extremely cynical about people that call me out of the blue, especially when they claim they can write off my debt because of some ambiguous credit agreement loophole (there is a bbc4 link on deletes website to see regarding this)
I asked where they got my number from, and they said because they were regulated by the government they have access to their database and could see i had taken out a credit agreement before April 2007...
They tell me that they are registered on the 'ministry of justice's' website (google it)
(goto the site, then the 'green' tab [authorised business search] and type in Authorisation number : 7015)
To give me confidence that they are legitimate
In a nutshell they told me that they can wipe credit card debts i took out before April 2007, and can 100% guarantee that with fail or success of wiping my debt nothing bad can/will be added to my credit score... and if anything by chance did appear on there, they would contact the credit agencies (Experian or Equifax) and get it removed personally. So i have absolutely nothing to loose.
To proceed with the claim, they wanted me to give my credit card number and full expiry date & 3 digit card number security so they could charge solicitors fees on there before they approach the credit card companies (which would be fully refunded if they were unsuccessful - which is apparently unlikely).
This way the solicitors fees will be sucked up into the wiped debt and i wont have to pay any fees for the service.
To summarise,
- They get paid
- I get my debt wiped
- The credit card company sink up the debt
I realise you get nothing for free in this world and am fully familiar with the phrase "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.."
Has anyone heard of this specific company or done anything similar to this...? if so can i hear some good and bad experiences please.
Much Appreciated,
Many thanks,
Ian0 -
I would avoid at all costs.... sounds like lots of other companies which have been scams.
As you said, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. There is no magic cure for your debt.
I would suggest you call Payplan, CCCS or National Debtline who are all charities and help you FREE of charge.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

wiping off credit card debts . on an ad here says "it is so unfair to be suffering high debts when so many others legally written off"
all your high payments are instantly cancelled
the ongoing interest is stopped
you pay one low affordable monthly payment (which includes all costs) for a limited period
then the rest of your unsecured debts are all legally written off ( the creditors get the tax benefits so they're happy)"
can anyone give me info on these schemes?
thanks in advance.0 -
Hi Deals
You'll see your post has been moved by a board guide to a very long thread warning against these companies.
If you are having debt problems then you need to work out a long term solution and seek advice from - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2077631
It is not possible to have your debt written off. It is the case that some unsecured debts taken out before April 2007 do not have legally compliant credit agreements which means the debt cannot be enforced in court, ie they cannot get a CCJ against you. You can investigate whether you may have any of these yourself for a few quid with the advice you can find on this forum.
But you need to be aware that if you go down this route any unsecured debts will be defaulted and could effectively wreck your chance of getting decent credit deals for the next 6years.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I have been approached by the above who claim to be able to cancel my credit card debt as my credit limit was increased without my being given the opportunity to say I didn't want it. They do all the work but want a % up front. In my case £900.00. Is this a scam.? Does anyone know of this company? Help please!0
