i know there may be but i dont think its fair on my oh half to start demanding the we stop going out ,cancel sky, stop buying presents and all the rest

No one is saying you have to cancel sky ~ why not reduce teh package. You dont have to stop going out sign up and do mystery shops with restrants, or pick up some voucher on here. You dont need to stop buying presents just shop around and spend less but get a persoanl/better present.

These are the easy things you could do to reduce your outgoings ~
Mobile phone ~ 30 ~ reduce your package or go payg
Clothing ~ 50 ~ buy less or shop cheaper (primark, clearance outlets)
Presents (birthday, christmas etc) ~ 50 ~ I dont know if you save this monthly but even if you have to reduce it for a few months once you are debt free you can fill up the savings quickly
Haircuts ~ 100 ~ This is a huge outgoing have you been to local collages where you can get it cheaper. All students are observed so you wont come out with green hair or anything.
Entertainment ~ 50 ~ Again could you shave £10 of this a month this would enable a little more off your debt and reduce the interest payed.
Holiday ~ 100 ~ Is this savings? If it is could you do the same as I suggested with the present buying and put it off for a few months till you are debt free? Also if its an expensive holiday can you think of somewhere nearer that would be of a cheaper budget?

    Hope that helps :A

I got a pair of clippers, do it myself, cost me around £10 for a lifetime of haircuts.

    Now I feel smug;)

Now there's an idea! I do go for the buzzcut look sometimes. :p
How do you do the back of your head yourself though, and make sure you haven't missd a bit?

Set up webcam and do it via a monitor. Small movements towards your crown. To be honest, though, it's normally easier just to ask someone to do the back of your head for you. Once your hair is short the first time, touching it up once a month takes about ten minutes, a buzz cut for someone with streight hair rquires no skill.

If your OH is paid enough to not need your rent contribution then why were you paying for your own birthday outings? make him pay next time, problem solved :)

Well none of it adds up imho. In any case, as HariboJunkie has said, there are far more needy cases around here, peeps who are grateful for any advice and don't call those who give it "cheap" because they suggest cutting out cherished luxuries. ;)

Well in that case you aren't a very good role modal for young people on this forum.
She and people like her are also why as a youngish person (22) I get looked down upon. I apologise if I offended anyone but the troll with my removed post, but I got very annoyed with "the attitude".
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I have to say, reading the posts on the DFW board helped to give me the kick up the rear end I needed to sort out my finances once the light was on (changed it to energy saving to help with the money :D) it has stayed on. The help I have seen people given can be considered "harsh" but ultimately it is telling someone what they need to hear but do not want to. I got the same advice from my parents, harsh but required.

The OP is not a real poster with a real problem. My guess would be that they have no more spent £100 on a haircut than I have.

I must admit that it was quite a clever trick starting a thread in the Arms about this thread. Bound to get more people involved.:T
Yes she got me! I wouldn't have read this thread without reading the other first. I wish I hadn't wasted my time but I have an annoying habit of having to finish reading til the end once I start. I'm sure she's had a good giggly evening thinking that she's fooled us all, though I'm sure most were alerted by the second page but wanted to carry on with advice just incase she was the real deal. I don't mind the occasional wind up if it's an intelligent/witty one. For me, this is neither but maybe others got a laugh from it. ;)

    Each to his/her own
