Forgot to take cash from ATM

Withdrew £100, took card and walked off, realised an hour later what I had done. Spoke to Natwest, apparantly it will take until tomorrow to possibly show up as being sucked back in. It was at an HSBC ATM.
Anyone had this happen before?

yes the machine sucks the money back in - assuming the person queueing behind you hadn't taken it.0

From my banking days I remember this happening quite regularly - at least once per machine per day wasn't uncommon. As has been said elsewhere, unless the person behind you in the queue was very quick, you should be alright. The delay is thatthe machines are usually only checked once per day and the staff need to physically the journal roll (summary of transactions) to confirm the situationGwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
The person behind who takes the money is in effect stealing, hope they get caught on cameraTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Hope you get lucky, can happen even in this day and age.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

It was at a tube station so I will go along later and ask if it was handed in, if not, and it was taken, I will report it to the police.0

I'm led to believe that the money is counted out but not back in. It's only when an end of day check is made that any discrepancy will show.
Good luck.0 -
I did this yesterday, only £20, but a good samaritan ran after me and gave me my money! She even said that she'd done it before as well!
Felt like a right twonk.0
