Hmm. But then how do you know? You only have the posters word for it. I recall Beeny saying "the big room with like the windows and that could be made into like a a big roomy sort of room thing"

My misus loves all that property !!!!!! and I occassionally catch a few minutes.

That's about all I can stomach.

I prefer following it with PN and others on here.

....You mean the big bright room.

I'm not having a go sdw, but........

What I hate about these shows (not that I watch them often) is the pretentious language used by these amateurs...............

    the house becomes....................the "build"

a room becomes ................a living space

knocking down a wall becomes.................opening up the space

putting in a window becomes................flooding the space with light

checking the builders are not wasting time drinking tea becomes.............project management

talking to the builder becomes...........negotiating with the contractors

    And so on.

It really gets on my t1ts.

Which is one reason I don't watch the sh1te.

Well I used to work in Town Planning and got used to calling a room a 'space' because it doesn't HAVE to be a living room, or dining room, or bedroom, they are interchangeable.

So I'll stick with 'living space', thankyou.

No, .... I'm just winding you up really. :(. I wouldn't call the living space a front parlour either. Just a plain and simple living room.

I'm not sure that as I'm female I qualify as a 'mate'......?

    I've been Money Tipped!

Suppose I die in my living space/parlour. I might also get laid out there!;)

DH once put up an inflatable swimming pool in our kitchen, that would confuse issues too I expect.

    No.
    It's the sh1touse, obviously.

Unless it's installed under the stairs.

    Then it becomes.................the groundfloor WC

I can't believe they didn't buy the parking... I'd have willingly paid £20k to buy that slot!

That slot is the key to its desirability so far as I am concerned... no parking = big problem for everybody now and in the future. Parking = a joy.

The older couple weren't prepared to sell it at a loss / cut their losses before the serious next leg down of the crash.

Buying the car spaces at £10,000 each, with their attitude would be, in my opinion, a waste.

When they've incurred further capital losses and are forced to sell, a new buyer can negotiate again for the car-spaces at lower prices, and buy the house at real-world values.

That land is just losing money to me.. unless perhaps if the owner can get planning-permission for a house... but financing on top.. crashing market ect.

    Oh you most definitely do.

Although I'm married, so that is just a joke.
  • However, just as an aside, many rooms ARE interchangeable in their use and to realise this helps one to think outside the box when planning or designing a renovation.

For example, a house has three bedrooms and two receptions.

    Or does it?

It might have two bedrooms, a study, a dining room and sitting room.

Or it might have four bedrooms and a sitting room.

Or it might have one bedroom, a study, a dining room, a bedsit and a sitting room.

It may even have five bedrooms.

Sometimes people can't see past the obvious and therefore limit opportunities.
