Hi all.. I've got baby snot all over my tshirt :( Rhys keeps having sneezing fits and had one whilst asleep on my chest earlier.. lurvely!

Aside from that, he's doing well.. Consultant, who hasn't seen him for a few days, nearly had a fit that he was in the room he's in and is doing so well :) Nothing much going on with Rhys today.. having a chill out day. Eye tests done yesterday are all normal (it was to see if the oxygen therapy he'd had had damaged the development of his retinas - test are all done on babies born before 32weeks as the retinas aren't fully developed until then); dietician has been this afternoon but we're yet to hear her suggestions; and the consultant here have now confirmed Rhys is stable enough for his day trip to Nottingham to see the kidney specialists there to see if there is anything else they can do (probably not as our hospital have been getting their advice and doing what they suggest, but Notts just want to see him for themselves) so they're trying to arrange that for sometime in the next week or so.

I saw a set of twins this morning who had been born just 15mins before! They were brought up to the same room as Rhys. I've just been talking to their Dad who looks very bewildered by it all, bless him.. I remember those days! Me and the twins' nurse have just been talking him through what he needs to go get from Asda tonight (which size nappies etc) ;)

The unit is now closed to new admissions again. The twins born this morning are the third set in the unit right now. Out of the four parents' flats, we're in one, two others have twins' parents in and the other one is occupied by a nightmare (nurses' words! ;)). The twins this morning were born by c-section so their mum will be on maternity for the next five days then will probably want to come up here so we think we'll be asked to give up our room for her shortly. The nightmare one should be the first to go really but we're more than willing to give it up for the twins' mum so we're starting to pack up our things tomorrow.

I'm going to collect my car from Mum's tonight.. not driven in 35 days. Cross your fingers for all other local road users! ;)

Righty, off to Tesco to get something for tea.. TTFN xx

elle - just remember to test your emergency stop on a quiet road - that's the important thing. So glad Rhys is coming on so well.

Jillie - I saw the same one today as last time and she has said she will be my MW now (had seen 2 different ones before her!) She said at the mo one of the other MW's is doing the parentcraft but that she might be doing them by the time I start which will be cool.

OH has got some notes together and has comebacks to everything they could possible come up with as an excuse to get rid some hopefully they will be left with no reason to get rid of him except that they want to do him over!!

Right, Going to Watch America's got Talent then colour my hair ready for tomorrow night.

i think as i have my main appointments at the hospital thats why i see different ones each time.
hopefully now i'm having my weekly checks with my gp practice, i may see the same one each time...
would be nice to have the same one all the time though.

Oh my goodness, I had no idea flight socks are so pricy! They cost about £13 a pair- ridiculous. Midwife has recommended I get them for my flight next week, so I feel it would be tempting fate not to. Anyone know any cheaper places though (need them for Monday so prob needs to be High St not online now).......

GISI - i got some from the hospital whilst I was in for operation and kept them. You get free prescriptions so could be cheeky and ring your GP surgery and ask for them - no harm in asking.

Anyone see this act on Americas Got Talent a few weeks ago?
