if you want to get pedantic...pretty much most (if not all) long-term visas are eligible for NHS, just not visitors. I could've come over yesterday with my marriage visa and still been eligible to see the MW, etc. It's not the length of residency, but the type of visa you're on. Students, workers, family members and spouses are pretty much all eligible the moment they step foot in Britain - just not tourists/visitors.

Anyway, this is going off-topic now :) (I'm a bit of an immigration nut, having dealt with it for the past 3 years or so with another 1.5 to go before citizenship!!)

    Congrats MM and Mookie :D
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Congrats Mooki! Leila is gorgeous. Loving her wrapped in the pink blanket. So cute!

MTW - you don't have long to go! Less than 2 weeks and you will have one of these hopefully!!

Beenie - How are you feeling? Throat killing you? At least you can chat on here without straining it! I am loaded with the cold, but hoping to be well enough to go back tomorrow. Just felt really lousy today.

jha - why on earth would they ask you that? you don't have to be a British citizen/perm resident to have access to NHS. I've never even shown my passport to a soul much less been questioned on my visa status (granted, it probably helps that I'm white ) in any medical situation.

I don't know is says on the notes they give you with the directions to the hosp, have a full bladder etc and they will ask you whether you are a british resident. i dont know why - could it be different in wales where i am:confused:

As i have said before i am white welsh and oh is black african i have taken his name being married hence the confusion - they see mrs a as a surname and immediatley presume what my ethnic origin is - anyway i will ask why tomorrow

    .

I know! Is it weird that I keep forgetting it is that close .

I have a quick question for all you ladies with babies already - did you have niggles/aches and pains at night for the last few weeks of your pregnancy?
Because for the last few nights, as soon as I get into bed I get Braxton hicks, lower backache etc, this lasts all night, but disappear as soon as I get up in the morning - my BH were so strong last night I started timing them (every 20 minutes). I am wondering if this is a sign that things are moving, or whether it is just they way I am (not)sleeping .
