    Hi all..

Rhys is doing awesomely :D The consultant who saw him this morning said he was amazed at how well he's doing and how far he's come :) We had a new SHO doing the rounds this morning and it's their job to read out the history of each baby and recap for the consultant - made me realise just what he's battled his way through... was something like "emergency section at 31 weeks due to VP, evidence of reuptured vessels, prolonged resus on birth, oxygen deprevation, hypo- then hypertension, ventilated, renal failure and associated swelling and fluid retention, fluid on the brain, damage to the brain, had fits and monitoring for abnormal movements, required six blood transfusions, now on iron, too high/too low levels of potassium, urea, creatine, calcium, glucose and sodium".. yee gods! :(

In today's update, there was mention of TSH which is something to do with thyroid function. I've mentioned it countless times that I have an underactive thyroid but they've only today listened to me and picked up on it so Rhys is having extra blood tests for that to see if he's inherited it from me and needs meds for that. The rest of the plan is just to fatten him up and get the feeds sorted..

We've done skin-to-skin again this morning and going to do it again tonight. Can't say it seems to have made that much difference to my milk supply. Am going see my GP tomorrow and ask if he will prescribe something for me - the nurses keep telling me about it but some GPs won't prescribe it as the increased milk supply is a side effect not what the meds are actually for, but we shall see.. I can only ask. Still desperate to go home but can't until there's enough milk :(

OH is off work today as he's been in court this morning about his debt to the lovely Natwest. Appears we are now having a charging order put on the house but no order to sell on the condition he still makes the payments (which he has done for the last 18 months anyway). Don't think it's anything he's done which means they've stepped it up, think it's that they have to have it in place as Natwest have to be see to be securing their debts as they're now government owned or something like that anyway. It's officially his house and his debt (had both before he met me) but be blowed if we're going to sell the house just after having all the work done to it! :p @ Natwest!

Righty, we have to go shopping for a bit.. Catch up with you all later xx

Weezl had a paddling pool and rmac had a proper birthing pool. Jam, you'll find them both on the Parents Thread if you want to ask there too :)
