GISI, unfortunately the parents of the other baby she is looking after are friends of hers, along with most of the other nurses here (other baby's mum is a nurse too). Makes it harder to get something quietly done about it, but we shall see.. Shift change has just started so I'm going to go out in a min and see who she's handing over to. Even if it's a nurse we don't know well enough to feel comfortable speaking too, there's bound to be one/several on who we do know well enough..

Although I'm angry enough about the medication, that particular one isn't as drastic as some. What I'm now really angry about is that I've found out he hasn't had his chest physio which is what he really needs to shift the crap off his lungs which is the major problem at the minute!! The nurses here give it, not someone from the actual physiotherapy dept as there's is no specific trained baby physio down there. Either this one doesn't know how to do it, or she's (again!) not read the notes well enough to know that she's supposed to be doing it, as when I asked she just said that she didn't know if anyone had been in touch with the physio dept - looked very embarrassed and scuttled off when I said she was supposed to have done it!

Words will be had, trust me.. :(

Oh Elle, I'm sorry she seems to be being such a cow. I really would get it sorted as soon as she is gone though. Rhys needs his mummy to look out for him when people like this are not doing their job properly. Hopefully your nice nurse will be back by now and she will be able to do something to ensure that she is not allowed to work with Rhys again.

Failing that, however, I feel you are perfectly within your rights to demand - at whatever level necessary - that Rhys is given the correct treatment and medication and that you intend to oversee it in future if necessary. I know I can be a bit demanding sometimes but the only people Rhys has to speak up for him is you and OH so I would make as much fuss as you need to.

I hope things go well and that it is all sorted out without you having to resort to demands though.

    Thinking of you all

Elle, if she's failed to read his notes so she couldn't answer the consultant's questions in the morning, failed to give him his meds, and failed to provide necessary physio, she's dangerously incompetent and shouldn't be near your son. I'm sure she's loving chatting to her friends with the baby in the next bed, but there's a limit and she's well beyond it.

Don't bother doing it discreetly. Make a noise.

Good news: Nasty nurse has gone :)
Bad news: As she went, she said "See you tomorrow" - ARGH!! :(

Righty, AWESOME lovely fantastic nurse is in tonight :D Will give it a few hours (aka once my parents have left) then "have a chat". I have all night - it's not like the nurses will be asleep in the middle of the night!

This lovely nurse is the one my Dad really laid into, demanding that someone told us what was actually going on, when Rhys was at the worst of his crash around 11 days old (when we were asked the resus questions) and she immediately organised a meeting with the consultant to get us some answers.

Don't think I mentioned that meeting on here; it was probably the second to worst moment in all this so I didn't really want to talk about it. First worst was Day 2 when we were told he wouldn't make it to Day 3... HA, now on Day 23!!

Ooh- could we have another board baby this week from MM? Not like her to be absent for the evening!

I know this has been discussed, but when did people start feeling baby move? I am 19 weeks with first baby and am feeling some gentle flutterings that I am pretty sure are baby, but nothing definite. Just wondered what other people's experiences are. I have my 20 week scan next week so hopefully that will put my mind at rest but it would be nice to feel bubs a bit more!

People keep telling me I am glowing at the moment- family at the weekend and my boss today. How ironic that I have never felt so tired.....although I am secretly enjoying my bump at the moment.

Just checking out some yummy babygros on the asda website. Think once we know the flavour we'll get some packs from there as the have some lovely designs at good prices. How many vests/ babygros is it worth buying in newborn? I am a little concerned that this bubs will never be tiny, as OH and I are both tall and quite well built (frame-wise, not fat) but I guess you never know.
