D&DD wrote:Hi Ceri we got new phones from Virgin they were pretty cheap though I have to do unbreakable more than trendy :rotfl: mine was £20 including a free £5 sim
spookily I was just looking at virgin, the tariff is fine but I am not keen on the phones. I have got used to a colour screen and so far the nokia ones I have found that are under £30 are not colour screens.
I can smell my dinner so I will go have that & take another look.
Thanks for the info & good luck with the OH0 -

I want to thank you so much for this thread. I am yet to post my SOA on here, but we are massively in debt. I have started a second job to get the income in to repay the debts sooner. I told my husband how much I had made, unfortunately on the same day as he and his mates were going to a PING open day. He came back and said that I wasn't going to be happy.... he'd bought a half set of made to measure golf clubs for £350.00. When I went deathly white, grey around the gills and silent; he stared at me and said that he had been good, as his mate had bought a full set.
He's about to go away soon on yet another golfing weekend. When he's gone, I'm going to Ebay everything he owns!!! See how he likes that....
What do you think...????
:rotfl: :T :rotfl: I think I'll be joining you on ebay well done!!!! :rotfl: :T :rotfl:0 -

Ok gang I seriously need to rant (sorry!) or I'm going to end up with a bump under my patio...
Just when I'm getting a handle on things OH has decided not only to join a footie team (cue spending over £100 on kit alone this month..)he's just come back asking for some cash where he's been down the pub..oh and for subs!!!
This after deciding he's going to try to finish our garden....and his trip out 'with the lads' next week..* cue screaming noises and sound of head being hit against brick wall*..
Any suggestions gratefully recieved on how to make him see sense??
I have worked my butt off, again(!) to get us straight and he does it everytime without fail failing that is anyone any good at digging :rotfl:
Hi D&DD
I know what you mean!! Do you sort out all the finances (or try to!) at home? because im in the same boat - i thin when they arent as involved as you are they tend to be more distant from the real necessity to cut back.....even though ive opened up to OH its gonna be really tought to make him stay as focused as me - but i WILL nag him into submission.....xxFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0 -
all i can say on phones is if you need a phone you dont need a colour screen other than they use more battery life they make bot all differance to the quality of the phone call .... just a thought for you.If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

but colour screens are easier to read & with my awful eyesight I need all the help I can get - I text more than call. and I knew someone would say that, I'm not asking for mp3, camera, video calls, the only thing I do want is a colour screen.0 -
D&DD - feel for you. When will OH's learn that they have to control the money and not the other way round? My OH went to hypnotherapy (£90) to give up smoking 'cos he has been out of work for 6 months (got a job now starting in April). 8 days later he is smoking again. I want to tear my hair out as I am watching every penny- no mags, no clothes for nearly 8 months, my car is falling around me (Flintstones car it will be soon!) and he thinking of replacing his car as his new job gives him a car allowance. Need I continue? Aaaarrrgggghhhhhh!!
Well, all I can do is hope that the lightbulb moment never fades for me and as long as I can get debt free, then that is really what matters. What happens to his debts will be his problem, I think (she says dreadingly!).
Good luck.0 -

On the other hand at least he is getting some exercise. So that should make his life insurance less! But I agree with the opening poster that extras should mean he works extraI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Try EasyMobile. 5p a text, 15p a minute. You can buy a new handset or unlock your old one. Worked for me. If someone can refer you, you and they get some money credited. Apart from being able to get online, if you can it's that simple.mjh1977 Highest debt -18.5k (Dec 04) Current debt now below £10k for the first time in 4 years :j0
