thank you everyone :grouphug:
it was so strange, last night as he was breaking up with me he told me he loved me for the first time, I don't know if maybe howe he feels about me scares him or something? But he's ruined something that could have been great, I just know it.
Anyway, enough of the self-indulgence.... Good luck to all the exam-takers and their parents!:T When I did my gcse's and a-levels I remember how stressed my mum got with it - way more stressed than i ever was! I know a lot of teenagers from theatre groups and I'm soooooo proud of them when they all do their exams and stuff - I can't imagine how proud you must be as a parent!
good luck good luck good luck (or should I say break a leg as a thespian)

Hi all,
Just buzzed in to say got my Wii Fit and game for a tenner today!! Bought it in Argos with my Nectar points (£90 worth!) which I have been saving for AGES! WOOHOO!
Got some planting up to do later on today and tackling the ironing mountain but that's about it.
OH is at dentist today so he might be in a grizzly mood later...
Hugs to Ladymay, sounds a bit brutal of him. Redruby I am going to give blood on Monday; been hearing appeals on the radio everyday so have been shamed into going! Should have been ages ago.
Not much else on apart from prepping to go to Bath for the weekend.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun.
P.S If you are out there Sybill, come back soon!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
Ladymay Sorry to sound very old fashioned but what a scoundrel! (((((((((hugs)))))))) to you.
Diva I was late with everything too we can eat lettuce at the moment but nothing else homegrown  Hopefully we'll still be harvesting in September :T
I've been into town & went to the library to collect my books. Whilst I was there I asked them to order a copy of the Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day one that is talked about on this thread it should be here in a week or so. I also went into a new greengrocers to get some more salad stuff for dinner as it's too hot for pasta bakeso this has definitely been turned into pasta salad with ham :rotfl:
Going to finish making the dinner, have a quick hoover round, bring the washing in and then do my shopping list for tomorrow whilst sat in the garden.0 -
Hug to ladymay and anyone else who could do with one.
I daren't use smileys as if I even try to click the thanks button it tells me I am trying to do something unauthorised!!! (rebel that I am!)
Still using DDs laptop and can't find half the stuff I like on it. Hope neighbour sorts out my computer soon.
Two washloads are on the line and will do dd a pasta dish for tonight. DH and I had a late brunch before he had to set off.
Estate agent phoned suggesting we drop the price again- by £15,000.
I really relish trying to talk DH into that! It has taken me months to convince him to take early retirement in January- now he says he is looking forward to it!!!!!
Might pop out to the shops, post a letter on the way and then get salad vegs for tea.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all *waves*.I've just come in to get a drink,I'm boiling.Still been grappling with hawthorn branches but got rid of a third of it in the green bin that got emptied today, put another third in when I brought it back, and the rest I've just piled into two old laundry baskets.Got a cheeky smile off the young green waste men, bare chested as well (them not me!),reminded me of one of Nelskis firemen pics.:rotfl:Hope they had sun cream on.
Tea is tuna steaks from Aldi with salad.I shall have some of my lovely home grown leaves and rocket ,the others will have boring iceberg lettuce.DS1 took a sandwich to the park to meet his girl at her lunchbreak from work. They might as well make the most of it and it gets him out of the house.Since he lost his job and moved back home,he seems to spend all his time in his room, searching for jobs online .
Well, back into the garden for me now,a bit of shade has come over so not as hot.
MSD-thanks for PM last night. You sound a bit brighter today, hope so.
Ladymay-sorry to hear about your breakup.Hugs

Hockey, well done for making the appointment to give blood :T:T.
Have decided to go and mow the lawn, feel perfectly normal after giving blood, and I am in the mood for it.

ladymay - I am so sorry your fledgling relationship is over. Doesn't matter how long you were with him, if you cared for him then you cared for him and of course you will be upset. *hugs* honey.
Elona - thanks for the hugs
I am jealous of everyone with fruit and veg showing on their plants, I was really late with all of mine so still at the growing stage - no sign of anything edible except lettuce leaves! Some of my chilli plants are still no more than seedlings but I will have to hope they shoot up soon! I do have a few flowers on my strawbugs though so that looks promising.
Not much OS going on today as I am home alone again (OH gets back from France in the wee small hours). I will have sandwiches for lunch with the bread left from the BM yesterday and probably something nutritious like a pot noodle for dinner. (Does that statement get me thrown off the OS thread?? :rotfl::rotfl:)to all the children taking exams today and extra
for you mums and dads dealing with exam stress!
Warm gentle hugs for all - Have a great day

Afternoon all
What a hot day, has clouded over here now and feels like it could rain - very sticky weather!
Have been back to work today and had my annual appraisal. It was a really good one but cynic that I am, I feel the excessive praise about what a valued member of staff I am, was to cover for the fact that our salaries are to remain the same, no rises this year. I am just grateful to have a job so they didn't need all that flannel with me:rotfl: :rotfl: Never mind nice to hear I suppose!:D
Roast chicken salad for tea, my dog has been driven mad by the smell for the past couple of hours. She has been off her food for last few days (combination of very old age and the heat) so she will def be getting some of her favourite food!:o
((((((Hugs)))))) Ladymay perhaps he might come to his senses and see what he is missing and if not it is his loss!
I too am using some lettuce from the garden, but that is the only thing that is ready but I have lots and lots of flowers on my tomato plants and my potatoes have gone mad in the last few days. All the flowers in the garden are looking lovely too, we couldn't believe how much they had grown in the 3 days we were away.
I hung my washing out at 5.15 this morning before work and I have to say it is bone (or should I say board!!!) dry. Nice smelling but a bit harder to iron!!!!! Well it can wait until my day off on Thursday.
((((((Hugs)))))) to anyone who needs or wants one. Have a nice evening all.
