Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 2nd June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning. Another fab day here. Sunny and warm. Another day off for me too...
Managed a few jobs yesterday including capturing a swarm of bees that escpaed from one of my hives. Thankfully I rehoused them and will have an extra hive now... Some honey is being made already which is a good sign.
Big fishing competition tomorrow, so I am going to get some bait and sort my tackle out today, deliver applications and also pop in to worki for 5 mins.
It's all very well have 4-5 days off, but something still need imput.
Have a nice day anyway...

N9eav - how do you capture a swarm of bees?!
Another glorious sunny day here at the mo.
Don't have any major plans today. My mum wants to go to a local nursery to pick up a couple more bedding plants. I might get some marigolds to bung in my veggie plot and help confuse the wee beasties that want to come and eat them! So far my broccoli have survived this time, as have the cauliflower that I bought. I have a courgette developing on my one and only plant. I must plant out another one as all my others died.
I want to try making some almond slices (from a receipe that my mum gave me) so will make the effort to do that today.
Tea tonight is chilli from the freezer.
Have a good day all OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Good morning all!
I'm at my desk with a vat of coffee having already lost all relaxing benefits of the holiday last week. On the plus side, I don't spend money at school so that should help recent cash flow issues.
Starting to get buds on my tomatoes and cucumbers:D but they seem to have come with aphids-is it wrong that I quite enjoy picking them off and squishing them
Hope some of you get to enjoy this lovely weather!Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
