Morning All
Didn't make it on here yesterday, but did manage to read. H-J hope you have got rid of your cold, Pen-Pin hope you are OK. Thanks for the wave TiredMum. Jackie-0 hope all the tests are good, Ouch!
Good luck to those involved in exams. DS was asked to go into a school local to his firm yesterday to "interview" Y10 kids as if they were going for a job. He quite enjoyed it and was pleased that they all took it seriously. He got a bottle of wine in thanks and a shorter working day so he was well happy.
Yesterday was Chinese laundry day here to get through the weeks build up, and the fact it was raining before we went. Upset DNeighbour as she feels it makes us look like "terraced houses" with a single clothes line on the drive put out only when drying washing (no space at the back - wrong shape, plants, etc), we're detached bungalows:o. Plus a visit to the Drs. to reduce dosage on BP tablets as was feeling faint when standing up quickly when warm, and of course shopping to get fresh fruit/veg stocked up.
Today I am due at a local hospital at lunch time to have a lump removed from my forehead, its been there years but slowly getting larger and now catching it, hope they don't spoil my good lucks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rolleyes:.
:grouphug: to all who'd like one. :hello: newbies  everyone

Morning all :hello:
OH replaced a couple of the spotlights in the kitchen last night and I have been shamed by all the hitherto invisible grime so I'm going to deep clean the cupboards today.
Washing is on the line and I have laundry to put away, beds to make and the living room to tidy.
Need to go to the bank, post office and solicitor at some stage and finish off yesterday's paperwork.
Beef stroganoff with baked spuds and HG sprouting brocolli for tea.
Cold has moved to my chest this morning and I woke up to a nosebleed which I think may be the first since I was a child.
DG... Good luck at the hospital. x
Tru... How are the chooks? Is Penny still bossing everyone around?
N9Eav.... Careful not to let the bees near your tackle.
Take care everyone

Good morning all
Another bright day here too, and mother blackbird is still about feeding her two little fledglings. I've also had trouble keeping my courgette plants going and now have only two plants, but each has a flower on it so am hoping for something.
Plans for today-
* email veggie lasagne recipe to DD1 - she wants to convince her BF that she CAN cook
* plant more rocket and radishes
* go to work this afternoon:sad:
Julietiff - hope DH's appointment goes ok
Donny-gal - hope visit to hospital goes ok
Good luck to all with exams
Have a good day everyone

Hello all,
Nice here again too. Not looking forward to the end of the week when it is supposed to be cooler, I love this warm weather. Just pottering today, most of the house is nice and tidy, need to keep it like that.
Am quite excited as OH works in another country and is coming home this week for three weeks, I can hardly contain myself.....
Redruby well done on giving blood. You are right to take it easy. My daughter once fainted face down into her lasagne after walking the dog a bit too soon after giving blood!!!
Good vibes to you too donny-gal hope it goes well.0 -
I've been gone for quite a while while somehow retaining a slight sense of old style (I have been lurking though!!)
Now I'm going to be getting back into the swing of things and using up my veg box and cooking with leftovers and de-junking and meal planning. Hopefully I'll being saving money while doing this0 -
Morning! Another scorcher here although I will be glad when it's a little cooler tomorrow  as, to quote Peter Kay it's too hot for me :rotfl: I caved in and bought 24 petunias at the garden centre yesterday to give some colour to the back bed & I've already been on slug patrol
DS2 is on work placement for the next 2 weeks at our local magistrates court as he wants to do law when he's older. He loved it yesterday even though he was just an observer for the day. Today he's been shown how the paperwork system works and a tour & chat with the custody officers
Plans today are to swish & swipe the kitchen & bathroom, go to the library to collect some books I ordered on breadmaking and hopefully get a bit of time in the garden. Both WM loads are out - yesterday's were dry by 11am it was fab. Dinner this evening is pasta bake although it may morph into pasta salad as it's so hot.
Donnygal Good luck at the hospital
Julietiff Good luck at the doctors
Halight I hope that time will pass quickly for you until your appointment
Penny Pincher How are you doing?
(((((((((hugs))))))))))) to anyone else who needs one & have a good day all xxx0 -

Haribo, hope you feel better soon xx
Taplady, I love Tory Hayden books, I have most of them, let me know if you want to borrow any xx
Good luck to all the children facing exams.
Ok better hoover, then off to give a pint xx0 -
Good morning everyone! Another bright, beautiful and hot day here. A load of washing is in and hopefully will get a couple more done later on. There is no where to put up an outside line here at the flats.
However with the windows open and the bright sun shining in, I doubt they'll take that long to dry on the airers.
Lil furbaby is searching out places in the lounge to hide from the sun. She usually loves laying in the sunlight however it's just too warm for her right now. I could quite happily go with this weather all through the summer. Poor DH tho gets very hot at work. I've sent extra bottles of water and juice with his lunch. It's so easy to get dehydrated in this weather.
Tea tonight is chicken roasted in the slow cooker. It's much too hot to run the oven. Not sure what else we're having with it yet and will figure that out this afternoon.
Off to do the last bit of painting of the trim in the other flats this morning. Then a tidy up, change the bedding and hoover. Our DD's and their 3 furbabies spent the weekend with us and after the beach and 3 long haired furbabies, I've got sand in the strangest places. :rotfl:
Hope everyone enjoys their day. Please drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
(((((((((((((Gentle Hugs)))))))))))))) to all who want/need them.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Ok better hoover, then off to have a pint xx
 Bit early isn't it?
I've just checked the forecast and it's due to be 24 degrees today and then 14 degrees tommorrow _pale_. My poor plants won't know what's hit them.
Have done the paper recycling but am putting off the kitchen.:o My friends has just offered me her old retro cream fridge for free but I can't think where to put it.
For those with rubbish courgette plants.... I grew 6 from seeds which grew well and then croaked overnight so I replaced them with 2 plants which have also gone to the great squash heaven.I bought one more plant yesterday and have stuck a couple of seeds in but it does seems to be a bad year for them.
On the plus side I have just counted the flowers on my strawberry plant (I told you I was putting off doing the kitchen) and there are 250. :j
Forgot to wish Mr Julietiff good luck. x
Bye again
Haribo x0
