I don't see why not. I think all the London Boroughs are covered by the same rules and regulations. In any event Ealing will tell you if you get it wrong.

Sorry guys but I don't want my details on a public website so have now deleted the pdf file.
  • That makes good sense.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • MF17, very understandable you want to maintain your privacy. Perhaps you could reproduce the body of the important letter you sent to the council on here, so others can make use of your work? Seems to me that just the text would do.

I completely understand. It's a shame. But I'll do something similar in time. Seems that only a scan works, with text blacked out in pen. I think your work is amazing and if I could see how to give you an official 'thank you' I would, but I really can't see how at the mo. Only get 5 mins occasionally... Will keep you updated. Very best wishes. Erring in Fury, er in fury.. x

MF - I just wondered if there was any chance you might consider...just looking over the letter I'm going to send privately so I don't make a complete fool of myself? (and also post something that might be incorrect). As previously stated, I'm really unsure of the point of law. My big worry is completely contradicting myself whilst trying to look like I know what I'm saying. I completely understand if you don't wish to do so, but I would definitely scan in the docs, including all the photographic evidence and post AND give you all the credit! I just can't believe the ticket I got. They took it at 3am on a quiet residential road. I'm utterly furious with the council. Hope you will say yes. I'm two weeks into the the 28 day period of the NTO as I didn't receive the original PCN (it was apparently stuck to my windscreen tho I didn't get it). Regards and very best wishes... EF

MF17's case was indeed a great example. :T

There are plenty more on the motorists' fightback forum, pepipoo.com (in fact I think the dropped footway appeal wording is one that was first suggested on there by the pepipoo poster called Anorak):

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

Erin, I think you need to post a new thread there with pics of your PCN (front AND back, ALL of it, all the small-print) and pics of where you parked (signs and lines, including the termination lines at each end of any long bay - if the dropped footway was also marked with lines).

Was the dropped footway opposite another dropped footway? Tell the forum on pepipoo all the info you can and show them your pictures (minus the ID, host images on tinypic as per their FAQs thread, do read it first).

I would suggest you don't rush to replace one borough's name with your borough as you could end up with egg on your face, so to speak. You could also miss out some relevant appeal points by assuming there are no other 'angles' - pepipoo posters will see any and tell you.

Wait and see what pepipoo experts say specifically about your case, if you explain the circumstances and show your pictures. Give them a few days and bump your own thread whenever you need to, with any further questions about the 'informal appeal/rejection/formal appeal' [STRIKE]rigmarole[/STRIKE] process.

    Good luck.

To answer shef, we don't email each other on MSE (against forum rules).

But I think the dropped footway appeal wording is one that was first suggested on pepipoo.com by the poster called Anorak. I wouldn't just copy someone else's letter - although you can get the wording to use from pepipoo if you ask and start a new detailed thread of your own over there. Here's the link like I gave to Erin, above:

Thank you Coupon-Mad (and MF17). Sorry for the delay replying (kids illnesses etc). Yes, you're absolutely right. I'm a newbie. I'll do as you suggest. Really appreciate all the leads and help. My 28 days up next Monday but will post tomorrow to give time for responses. Very best wishes. EF
