I have 5 now, after opening them one at a time each month

How do you open them? Online or via the branch?

I opened mine online. Takes seconds if you already bank with them.

First one had to go into branch. After that you log in to your account and on the left there is 'open a current account'. I clicked on these about once a month until I had five. Most recent was last month.

I only did them once a month as I wanted to stay under the radar - you might get away with opening them all in one go, but then again you might get spotted and asked some difficult questions.....

Happened to see Lloyds Branch Manager about something else the other day and he noticed what I had done. He said he thought you could only open one and was surprised - called me 'very shrewd', which I toook as a compliment ;)

I tried that cos I've already got a current account and have had it for years.

But all I got was a lousy letter telling me to go into a branch to do it, which I did. Hmmm, computer says NO :rotfl:

I've got 2 Vantage accounts. I've not been able to open another online either by the link "Set up another current account to manage your money" or from the Apply Online menu down the left (which is how I opened my second one in July last year) after upgrading my original classic account a month before. I get a message like this.

That was the message I had when I originally tried to "upgrade" my PLUS account to Vantage. So went to the branch upgraded that one and opened another 6 (there was no limit at the time) without any problem. by the time I got home they were all available to use, on-line....... and it was oh so nice to deal with real people insted of IT messages and on-line help desks, who always put you on hold to clock up the charges and then come back with half a story ;)
I have now become a fan of getting the branch to do the work :)

Thats what I used to get intially. But someone on here said keep trying on different days, which I did and one day it started working. No idea why, but similiar seems to have happened for others.

Guess keep trying it whenever you log on.
