It changed from an unlimited number to a maximum of three on 23 July 09 when online applications were stopped (unless you already had access to online banking where it was still posiible to open numerous basic accounts and then upgrade them).
Fortunately I also got seven up and running before the clampdown.0 -
Online logged into your account and pressing open new account comes up with
Sorry. We can't process your account application online.However, we may be able to process your application in a Lloyds TSB branch but we need to talk to you further about your application.
Simply call into any Lloyds TSB branch with;
- An original document confirming your identity e.g. passport or driving licence.
- An original document confirming your address e.g. utility bill or bank statement.

I get the same message, even when it pro-actively suggests I should open another account!!
I have one at the moment.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

I remember that I used to get this message. I just tried again now....it worked. But they said they would contact me if my application was succeeded. And I got 4 with them at the moment. If it worked, I would open 2 more!0
