Hi alldecided to join in this month as my 370 food costs in the last few months are a little bit excessive i believe!
Budget this month for 2adults+2kids will be £240.
Good luck all
 monster30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0 -
Okay, not quite hit my targets, always slightly overspent so this month I'm aiming for £160 in total (includes toiletries, and any household things I need to buy) and that includes DD's birthday party on Sunday (2nd, family here) & another on the Friday (7th, friends as they finish half day so they can come for the afternoon
) but thankfully the IL's are going to throw a party for DD at their house for the family who live in Cumbria so I don't have to worry about feeding that lot
My cupboards are over flowing, my freezer is full and I've spent £98.98 so far  guess I had better be a bit more careful than I thought! Erm....let me see, I can afford £30 extra for DD's party stuff so I'll but that in a seperate budget as I have most of it anyway or it'll be home madeWill have to juggle figures now.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I am in this month - its my first go at it!!!! I am hoping to spend £200 for the month for 2 adults and 3 children aged 10, 8 and 6 and unfortunately the 10 year can eat for Britain!!! My month starts on the first. Will let you know how i get on - now i must get on with my menu planner!!!

I am aiming for £20 per week, as it's only me, and am going to investigate cupboards today, aiming to make entire weeks meals from cupboard. So no spend there!
New flatmate moves in this weekend, and she's bringing a food parcel with her
Will be living of soup and pasta for the next week!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Aiming for £175 this month. Done the first of five shops which included monthly "stock ups", and have spent £62.24 already  leaving £28 per week for the next 4 weeks.0

Aiming for £100 this month from 1st april to 1st May. I had it at this level in 2004 but have slipped back into bad habits recently, (this month I spent £50 a week - on what I'm not sure
)
From August my son is going to cost £16 every 10 days to maintain on his prescription formula as its been medically recc'd he stays on it till 5 but the NHS stops providing it at 2 years  I need to get a handle on the rest of our groceries prior to that date if we are not to suffer. In order to afford this the rest of our grocery bill needs to come down to about £80 a month by then.
I also want to do up my flat to sell it this year so need to watch the pennies.
Intending to use up store cupboard ingredients as my cupboards are bulging 1st. Also intending to review my reciepts carefully. I make my own cleaning & laundry stuff but am going to monitor our true consumption of fruit, veg and toilet rolls etc.
have decided all treats must come from ebay profits only and that this will be our Xmas/Holiday fund.0 -
This is the first time I've tried this but have been wanting to do it for ages! Anyway, I've monitored how much I spent this month and am trying to undercut it by about 10% for starters.
March's figure was £98.77. It's just for me, includes all food, wine, toiletries, cleaning stuff (not that I buy much of that mind), i.e. anything I buy in supermarket (Tesco mainly) except clothes, and milk delivered by milkman.
April target: £88, so roughly £22 per week.0 -
I really want to get back on track with this. I'm aiming for £200 for April.0

I've been cutting back over the past 5 months (wow has it gone that quick?!), but this is the first time I will be joining in this thread!
We cut back from god knows how much to £180 per month, but have usually exceeded it a bit. This month we still have £180 but I really want to underspend, so hopefully this months grocery challenge for me is £150 for two adults, a very hungry toddler and a cat.
May be a bit tricky as my mum and dad are visiting at easter, but we will do our best. Our month runs from 24th March to 25th April and so far we have spent £15 on friday (too much but we had OH's cousin and gf visiting) and (I am sooo pleased) £38 tonight which will be for all evening meals this month, breakfasts and lunch for this coming week, except for some mince which I will get from the market tomorrow.
My OH is loving all this OS cooking as he has lost 1.5 stone in the past couple of months."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
