I've had a letter today about reclaiming bank charges (put the claim in years ago, not long before it went off to the high court). The letter says I am no longer entitled to claim back bank charges. It looks like a standard letter.

Then it refers to these charges (i.e PPI) and that I am not entitled to them either!

    Hi Acey

Have you also tried posting on the reclaiming charges thread about this as well.

See if Natweststaffmember can help you with this.
He knows how they work, as an ex member of a bank, they all work the same, but he should be able to offer some advice/info on this for you.

In regards of the PPI, are you saying they have give you a decision and they are not refunding you?
Ask them to reconsider if you have not done so yet.;)

    Good luck.

I've had some contact with the FOS !!!

A very helpful lady has already had an offer from HSBC. This is for the PPI payments I made before my loan was taken into collections (by MCS).

BUT..... when the loan was taken into collections, they ADDED the amount of PPI payments I SHOULD have paid, had the loan kept running. So that totals more than £2000. The FOS is aiming to get that amount knocked off the total I still owe MCS!

So its all going in the right direction.

Ooo, I've had a phone call with the FOS!! HSBC emailed them this morning.

The total of PPI paid was just over £2000. They put on the 8% interest I asked for and have offered me £3543 ! :-D

Just waiting for the FOS to confirm whether it will come to me as a cheque or whether they will knock it off my debt.

Acey that is fab, Well done and Congratulations.

Even if they did refund towards the debt, the interest should be awarded to you, and that can add up too.:T:j
