Good Afternoon Everyone! Another scorcher here too! We have a chap doing our patio, who has spent the morning removing the turf and is now smashing up hardcore with a mallet - am seriously concerned he doesn't make himself ill. At least DH has the sense to know this is one job too far for him to try!
Hope tomorrow is good too - I can't get to the washing line today!
DS2 is home again with his family at last, and they are having a lovely day together too. I may start the painting in the spare room...but maybe not...
DH is cooking roast lamb at the minute. It may be warm, but I love roast lamb at any time. Have made a long list of all the jobs I will get done this week...three done so far. I hope you are all enjoying the day - ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one.Resolution:

:hello: Good afternoon!
I'm sitting in the cool while DH is in the back garden trying to prevent the vine from strangling the climbing rose
Dinner will probably be cottage pie - a bit hot for it, but that's what happens to be availableNo barbecues for us, DH doesn't like them and I'm not fussed.
Aussielass - My neighbour's daughter is in Tasmania atm with her husband and 3yo son - her DH is a pilot and is on a 3-yr contract, though I can't remember with which airline. Their little boy was always getting colds and chest infections when they lived here, so when this job came up i think they hoped the Tasmanian climate and clean air would suit him better. It's helped a bit, but I think he could do with living somewhere like Darwin. They find Tasmania a lot colder than they'd expected in winter, and she said it only gets up to about 20deg C in Summer (but maybe that was a bad year?) Glad your DD enjoyed her holiday!
NPM - I shall have a look at that dress, it sounds lovely!
stefe - Hope you're settling into the new job.

Hello Everyone
Just popped back in whilst the dinner is cooking.
Did really well at the Boot Sale - made over £200 which is paying towards our Pontins weekend away in August :j Have bought a lot of stuff home & we will do another one in a couple of weeks. I only bought a nice shabby chic enamel bowl - so was very good.
Luckily the boot sale was in a field by a lake with a really nice breeze so didnt overheat. Going to have dinner, everyone will shower then we will also watch Benidorm.
Been a good weekend with low spending - its the weather - makes all the difference. Fingers crossed we do get the summer they are predicting.x0 -
Hi everyone
Just looking in while finishing a cup of coffee. The veg patch is weeded, the sprouts, cabbages and lettuce are in, and daisies, alyssum and snapdragons are in place all round the garden. The young blackbirds look stronger today so hopefully all will be well. And I've found time to read a few more chapters of my book:D.
OH was hoping to get back home today but his employers want him to stay in Manchester until tomorrow morning to check all systems are running properly, so he's stuck in a hotel with nothing to do but eat, drink, watch tv and surf the web. It's a hard life:rolleyes:.
Just need to get stuff ready for work now and sort the last load of washing. Supper will be lamb & veg soup from the freezer - can't be bothered to cook for one:p.
NPM - I had a nosey - love the dress!
Have a good evening all.

Hi everyone!
I can't believe that it's back to school tomorrow - we've still got Year 2 SATs going on, but we're taking it slowly so that the children (and teachers) don't go into meltdown!
DH and I had a lovely few days camping in Norfolk. It rained on a couple of days, so they were spent spending too much money on those 2p machines in amusement arcades though DH couldn't believe how much I could spin my £1 worth out.Years of practise!
Anyway, back to earth. Today has been spent sorting out the garden - I'm trying to grow tomatoes, courgettes and peppers for the first time ever this year. We've planted them outside and are now crossing our fingers that at some point we'll have a glut of tomatoes to make into a tomato soup, sauce or whatever!
When I'm not teaching tomorrow, I'll be sorting out my car insurance. Just before half term I had a lorry run into the back of me - TWICE - at a roundabout on my way to work. My car needs a new rear bumper and luckily I'm ok, however it's a hassle trying to sort it all out! I'd managed to get to work on that day, but I was promptly driven home by a colleague and spent the rest of the day either crying, on the phone or crying on the phone!
Anyway, I'll leave you all in peace.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

The same lorry ran into me twice. It shunted me once, then shunted me again just as I was trying to work out what to do. Although I didn't exchange details with the driver of the lorry, I did manage to memorise the number plate (amazing what you can remember in these times!) and the large local company that he worked for, so it wasn't too difficult to get any details from that side.
What did annoy me (I was waiting for the traffic to clear on the roundabout) was that the first thing that he said to me was "What the bl**dy hell were you doing?" At which I promptly burst into tears....Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
