Morning all :hello:
Another lovely day here too. Will get dressed in a minute and take the pup to the beach. If she gets up.
Spent the day at the inlaws yesterday. Was ok.
Tea will be a BBQ here as well but it will consist entirely of sausages as I am trying to run the freezer down again. I spent yesterday morning doing the garden, weeded the flower borders and tidied up the deck at the back so hopefully I can relax in it today and read the papers.
Washing is on the line and the breadmaker is on. But the house has stayed clean and tidy with the children away so no real housework today. OH is threatening to take the boat out but I am ignoring him. He sails too fast.
Beth you are such a help to your DD. I lived so far away from family that I I didn't get much help though MIL started taking the girls when they were a year old and I stopped breastfeeding. Pink did take them one night when we were over there when they were eight weeks. It was bliss for me but i'm not sure she has ever recovered. She kept a diary of the night which I still have and it's hilarious.
Aussie.. glad you are well. Hope OH is too.
Have a great day everyone

Morning chums,
another beautiful day by the looks of it . One of my grandsons is coming to cut my lawn today for me .I had a go yesterday ,tried to do the edges, but gave up as I got very hot and joints started to ache, and I know my capabilities. No point making myself ill.Ben is also bringing his english homework to do, it gets a little noisy in his house at times as there is 4 other siblings,so Grannies quiet sitting room is better for him.I'm just going to knock up some small cakes as he has hollow legs and a plate of cakes will put a big smile on his face.
Got my ironing out of the way and did a bit of decluttering yesterday. Tomorrow I have to see the oncologist as my first year of remission is up,fingers crossed .One down four more to go.
On Wednesday I have my next mammogram, but won't get the results until I see my surgeon on the 17th of this month, again fingers crossed.
Tuesday my car has to go in for a service, so its going to be a busy week this week.
I hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs>> for those who are feeling down and blue.
Cheers everybody

P.S. only seven more weeks tomorrow until Amsterdam and U20 -
Good morning
Another totally glorious day outside so back into the garden today for more weeding, planting, reading and probably keeping a little eye on the baby blackbirds that have just fledged. I had to rescue one from the garden pond yesterday, luckily it was ok.
Grocery challenge already not going too well so will need to plant more lettuces, rocket and radishes to boost the veggie supply. I also bought another large bag of lentils yesterday to add to mince and stew dishes.
So, plans today are:
plant salad items, finish weeding veg patch, plant out pansies and snapdragons, do a meal plan using as much from freezer as possible, write to tax office for DD2 who has had tax deducted but doesn't earn that much.
Jackie - good luck with the mammogram - will be thinking of you. (((hugs)))
Have a beautiful day everyone.

I know what you mean. We have had 5 fledgling blackbirds down so far and all but one has survived. I'm sitting in the garden and after my last post a little fledgling landed on the wheelbarrow beside me (one that is planted up with flowers). I though it must be a baby sparrow but a robin has just come down and fed it some fat from the bird table. They are still there, less than 3 feet away. Awww.0 -

Hi, just posting this again as someone brought yesterdays thread up and I posted on wrong one:rolleyes:.....very confusing
Lovely hot day again here:rolleyes:....am not a big sun fan really dont like being too hot, would rather be too cold. and it plays havoc with my meal plans;)
Just waiting for DS to come back from his dads.
need to do a lot of replanting into bigger pots today.
OH just sorting shed out as his stash of computer stuff gets bigger by the day and i cant get in to my stores lol.
Made raspberry jam yesterday which turned out great so will put that away with the strawberry and make some more next week....hopefully will not need to buy anymore for a while...DS gets through a jar of Bon Maman almost every week:eek:
I am so excited I bought my wedding dress yesterday:D...it is gorgeous but it felt strange buying a dress for such a big sum:o.
I dont know how to put pics on here but if anyone is nosey( like me) it is on saraharnett.co.uk on the bridal page it is on the top row second from the right......it is called Greta.
Rack of lamb today for lunch, have never cooked this cut before so hope it goes ok:rolleyes:
right off to supervise OH with the shed tidying...ie try to convince him to get rid of some of his carp:cool:
have a good day everyone0 -
Afternoon,
Lovely dress NPM, how long until the big day?
I was woken at 6.10 this morning by the beastie cat bringing in a fledged blackbird.
What joy, chasing cat and bird around the kitchen
I managed to catch the bird and it appeared unharmed, so I returned it to next doors garden, where the parents and their mates were zooming around. I kept the cat locked in for a few hours.
I've been into work and in true MSE style, I think I've managed to repair the coin mech on a machine. I enquired about a replacement and they could do it for me at £125 + vat + carriage, then I need to pay my engineer to fit it as the wiring looks very messy
Not much planned for today, got some washing on the maiden, so I might keep ironing bits as they dry.

Afternoon all,
Another lovely day here, may have a barbecue for dinner, will just be mackerel though as DS3 was fishing yesterday and brought me some lovely fresh fish...will just do baked spuds and caraway cabbage with it...normally there are too many things to cook for barbie.
Spent half the morning chatting to my cousin in Brisbane...he has an op on Tuesday for a malignant growth on a lymph node...this is about the fourth time he has had this problem and it just means that he is never getting free of the damned thing.
Aussie, sorry that you are feeling the cold....don't think it was very cold when we had lunch in Brisbane this time last year...can't believe its been a year already, have so many happy memories of that visit, looking forward to being able to make another trip in a couple of years.
We have a bank holiday to-morrow...unusual for weather to be so good, may go to a flower show which is on in city...gather its very good but will have to keep purse tightly closed as I have been known to run wild at thiings like that.
Lots of watering to be done in garden, no point in letting things die now that the rabbits seem to have gone on holiday, haven't seen one for a couple of days.
Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to those who are celebrating, enjoy your Sunday

Thank you Whatatwit:D
It is ages till the big day!! Not till xmas next year:rolleyes:
I wasnt planning on buying my dress yet but have been looking out for 30s art deco style as thats the era I like. Found that dress and fell in love with it but it is designer and at £2000 way above my budget.
However the lady who owns the shop had a sample dress of it in a size 12 in immaculate condition that she was going to be putting in the sale soon at half that price.....i persuaded her to keep it to one side for me till I had a chance to try it on yesterday and it fits perfectly:T. it was more than I had planned to spend really but i would never find one so perfect again at such a price.
ed to add......where is WS? and where has that girl gone who did the acting etc...think it was Ladymay?has she gone off doing acting/dance somewhere?0
