regardless of the ops situation, i have read of somthing like this happening, maybe google it, but i cant remember how it was resolved.

I think the OPs previous posts do have a bearing on this. We could debate the issue of phantom transactions and advise the OP on how to handle this properly, but the OP should at least be straight with us otherwise we are wasting our time.

Or they are thinking of doing this - and finding out if they can get away with it - some people will do almost anything for a hand bag!!

Well, the OP does appear to be something of an Louis Vuitton aficionado:

Hi, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but just from the pictures, I can tell it's a fake. The piping shouldn't actually be on the bag, the shape is not consistent with Vuitton bags that size and design, the zip teeth are not Vuitton's own and the inner zip shouldn't actually be there- not for this model of bag anyway. Also, be very wary when the piping trim doesn't brown (authentic Vuitton handles and piping on some bags will always darken due to the leather- the fakes always stay light).
Sorry for the essay but hth

A shop like that will have CCTV - as I advised on another such case - get down there if needs be with the police and look at the CCTV.

I am struggling on this one - because they used chip and pin - unless your card co. are lying and it was a mail order/internet transaction or the like.

I have yet to hear of debit cards being cloned with the chip and pin part as well - perhaps someone can confirm

Hiya, thank you- I have already asked the card comp. to investigate and have asked them to show me who actually used my 'card'. So hopefully something will come of that- here's hoping!

A few weeks ago you said you didnt have any credit facilities. In fact, you said you were thinking about applying for an aqua card:

you are correct!- however, I am a second card holder on this card- therefore, i dont actually have any of my own credit facilities as such (well atleast thats how i understand it? i.e. spending on the card and making payments etc improves mums score not mine right?)

phantom transactions? sorry please clarify, and I thought my post was pretty straight considering all of it is true- i am not stupid i am aware that everyone can see previous posts etc if i was going to lie about this i would have either asked under another user name or whatever or just blatantly made some other excuse! please dont judge- its a horrible situation to be in, and some of the 'help' i asked for has been quite horrid

I didn't think me knowing how to spot fakes from real bags had anything to do with a fraudulent card transaction? And just to clarify for you, i happen to know the difference between real and fake louis vuittons as i got stung buying one from ebay and this is when i read the numerous guides on how to spot real from fake!

that's really quite a nasty assumption to make- like i said, i am only the second card holder and as i understand if i ever did commit any type of fraud, ultimately mum would be responsible for it-so thats not an option nor my intention!

You never mentioned the second card holder until now - and by coincidence you are giving advice on hand bags from exactly the same shop where the alleged fraud took place ......

A phantom transaction/withdrawal is one that the cardholder disputes making, but that the bank maintains was made with a genuine card and pin. essentially, the bank and cardholders have come to an impasse - someone must be mistaken or is simply telling porkies.

There are some cases where it simply can't be proven either way, but I'm sure you'll forgive some of us for being a little sceptical of your claims - especially given the glaring inconsistency in some of your posts. The fact that you are know quite a lot about Louis Vuitton bags may be nothing more than a coincidence, but who am I to say?
