I currently just have my A & L one and am contemplating having another as I am terrible at using my overdraft and not budgeting my spending...
Pros and Cons??
Banks Accounts to recommend?....
I get paid 4 weekly, so is there any banks who do 4 weekly standing orders?

I have 2 current accounts. Great for helping me budget. I originally had just a Barclays account, then opened a First Direct account, and had my salary and all DD's, SO's transferred to the FD account. What I do now is transfer a fixed amount at the beginning of my 'period' (i.e. the few days after my salary goes in and before any DD's come out) from FD to Barclays for the amount I have budgeted for spending (e.g. cash, groceries, petrol, etc). I never draw cash from my FD account. Works well for me!If you will the end, you must will the means.0

I have 2 accounts. One main, one for bills.
Helps me keep ahead of my budget.
No real cons apart from you have 2 cards instead of 1.
Least if one account stops working for some reason I have another to fall back on.0 -
first direct....i have been considering for a while0

I have a HSBC account and a Lloyds for bills/expenses. Works well for me.0

Well if you don't like having two cards just ask the bank to cancel one of them, easy!
Yeh but its always useful that if you don't have money on one you can still use the other lol.I have a HSBC account and a Lloyds for bills/expenses. Works well for me.
Exactly the same with me. I started using Lloyds to transfer money over to my friend, set it up yday, money not leaving till Sunday0 -

They're good, but very choosy about who they accept (based on other threads on here - but you should be ok if your credit file is healthy) and very expensive if you go overdrawn, so my advice is don't go for it unless you have your budget at least in balance at the end of each month. But if you are in a position to have a few quid spare when your salary goes in, you'll never pay a penny in charges. Customer service is good, but I must say I think Barclay's online banking is streets ahead of FD's. It does the job though. If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
I have two accounts - Lloyds for spending and Natwest for bills. It works well for me.0
