Yesterday I scrubbed a very grubby beige suitcase with diluted Stardrops and left it out in the sun to dry. Result.. 1 new looking suitcase!
  • If you use diluted Stardrops for cleaning your bathroom mirror(s) (from a spray bottle), your mirror won't steam up during showers. I explained the "procedure" in microfibre cloths thread, for anyone more interested. Works like a charm
  • I bought Stardrops and Starclen yesterday and am impressed!
I have always had a problem with my stainless steel splashback/ cooker hood and Stoves black and silver 8 ring cooker - I have tried every possible cleaner and always had streaks and smears. It took a while last night but it now looks new new and I was so pleased when I came down this morning and seen it in daylight.

Not keen on the packaging - the lid is rubbish and leaks! Probably a factor in the low price so I will learn to live with it. I am new to OS and am trying hard so delighted with the amount of money I will now save on brand cleaners. Now I am converted to Stardrops I am off to read up on uses for Soda Crystals and Vinegar.

Quick question - Can I add Zoflora to Stardrops in my spray bottle for anti bac and nice smell? I have read both big Stardrop threads and a couple of people saying they mix it and a couple saying dont mix so wondered what the general concensus was? possible reactions?
Would I be better with a seperate spray bottle with diluted Zoflora?

Is Zoflora better value than Dettol? Dont like the smell of normal Dettol but I noticed some new lavender and orange Dettol yesterday but as I am trying to be OS I wondered which was better value.

I've read a fair bit about stardrops & microfiber cloths this weekend & I'm sure it is strongly recommended that you don't add any other product to a stardrop mix. HTH

It has been bugging me all weekend, that I'd heard summat along the lines of the baby oil for stainless steel tip but just couldn't remember what:o

Then Eureka:idea: That Stephanie woman on Houses Behaving Badly said to clean your ceramic tiles--say on the bathroom wall--rinse them off, allow to dry then.......
    Seal them with CAR POLISH!
They should keep sparkly for up to six MONTHS with just a squeegie down after you've had a bath/shower. She didn't, however, say how you got the family to do that bit :p

I wonder who they term cult housewives? :D

Looks like the range will be in for a refresh and hopefully an expansion in stockists!

Oh Lawdy _pale_ ..I don't 'do' improvements very well...usually an excuse to cut efficiency & increase the cost. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with then...

Hmm might have to nip to asda & stock up while its still decent stuff. Such a shame that so many people think improvements are necessary. its lasted this long why does it need improving now????

  • I've been searching for this mythical Stardrops in Inverness and can't find it anywhere! I've tried several Tescos, Farm and Household in Inverness, Highland Industrial Supplies, hardware shops in Beauly, Dornoch and Ullapool. Do any Highlanders know where I can buy some? Dingwall, Dornoch, Beauly, Ullapool, I will travel far and wide and stock up! The only other place I could think of was Macdonalds in Dingwall but I haven't had time to look there recently.
Found some microfibre cloths though and love them.
    Edit
RE the linked article above, seems like Wizz Products also own the Pink Stuff - this paste is a great cleaner for vitreous enamel surfaces like Agas and Rayburns, it makes my Aga soooooo shiny. It also cleans pretty much anything - on Saturday I *brushed* my wing mirror against my fiance's new white pick-up but the Pink Stuff took all the marks off and he didn't guess! And once my mother name-tagged my brother's snowboard with indelible marker which was obviously desperately uncool, but the Pink Stuff got it off! In short, they may not do dreadful things to Stardrops, just start stocking it in, er, Inverness Tescos for example.
