Weekend Sat/Sun 30th/31st May, what small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
:D

Goooooood morning everyone!!

    Hi All,

Was about to start the post - I am using a laptop with a dodgy spacebar (my excuse for poor typing)

    Today I have/will:
    • checked online banking - main bills have already gone out
    • need to make breakfast
    • need to wash 'work' clothes on 30 and dry outside
    • need to do TAB bingo
    • need to go into town to buy cheaper tops for work
    • need to go to Evans to complain about their sales assistant who tried to trick me into getting a store card and take the tops back which I bought yesterday (paid cash and did not get a receipt)
    • will buy a cheap new home card and present
    • I feel an urge to plan a trip to Dublin for hubby and I for our 10th Anniversary (2011, but need to save as it would co-inside with new year )
    • need to go to the library and get a new book
    • need to walk into town to meet hubby and mum
    • need to re-start taking meds for PCOS (I had fallen off the wagon)
    • need to check the lottery numbers for €millions and fingers crossed for tonights draw

Off to a housewarming of 2 of my friends, I havn't seen them for ages and I am v happy for them.

Have a great day everyone, enjoy the sunshine. Hi to regular and new posters (welcome)

    Morning all..

Thanks Mogchops for starting this thread! I am finding it gives me some motivation at the moment :j Long may this continue.......

Nice and sunny here today - woop woop.

Barclays have decided to let me have access to my cheque funds after a long wait. So it means I can actually get few things sorted today money wise. I hate banks. I wonder if I could start my own????? ;)

Plan for this weekend is -

1/continue putting house back together again now carpets are in (looking lovely too :D)
    2/order sofa
3/pay rent and Nat Ins
    4/OH take DS swimming tomorrow
5/mum visiting later so I can order her bed for her online - she is also putting petrol in my car as I gave her a lift to a wedding yesterday! RESULT - she usually puts in more than I used! Good job mum! :D
6/POST OFFICE - post work bits that MUST go today! BUT I'm still waiting for some bits to put in with it that should come in the post to me today. So I might miss the local post office and will mean I have to go into town
7/various odd jobs round the house
8/put shopping away when it comes later
    9/online banking and scratchies
10/get upto date with washing (only 2 loads)

Hope everyone is good! Have a good weekend!!

Oh - Well done on the £100 win yesterday bagpuss :j

    Morning everyone

    Thanks Mogchops x x

Candy Dublin is great, I would go back tomorrow, but oh boy is it expensive. When we went for my Birthday last year (and sunsequently came home with a Pip shaped souvenir!) for 1 Baileys and 1 Guinness it was $16 which was around £13:eek::eek: at least we cant blame the drink for Pips arrival :rotfl::rotfl:

    So list for today:
    • Yet more hokey cokey!
    • Bake some cheese straws
    • Go and pick up family portrait photos we had done as didnt get round to it yesterday.
    • Avoid MIL who is coming round to [STRIKE]terrorise[/STRIKE] see Pip
    • Storecupboard tea and home grown salad :T
    • Visit friend for lunch and sit in her garden and enjoy the sunshine
    • Check online banking
    • See if I can afford to pay off Eon for dodgy lodgers electric and then cancel the DD (£30 more in my pocket per month if I can)
    • Scratchees
    • Any surveys that come my way
    • No electric night
    • Puree some veggies for Pip
    • Look into water butts, not actually "into" them :rotfl:more research how much they cost
    • Plant up my peppers into bigger pots
All I can think of for now TTFN x x
Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700
    :TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!

    Hi Everyone

Didn't get round to posting yesterday so well done to everyone for all those small and big (Bagpuss!) things.

OH and I are going out for the day to enjoy the sunshine and each other! We're going to use our membership at the Tate Modern and treat ourselves to afternoon tea. I also need to buy some sandals that I can wear to work so will use our time in town to do a bit of shopping later in the afternoon.

    My small list for today:
    • washing HC
    • Storecupboard breakfast (bagels from the freezer)
    • scratchies
    • call best friend in france - I've really been missing her

    Good morning,

And here goes for the weekend:
    - Scratchies
    - Curly
    - Cashback bingo
    - Go get hay bale from stables for piggies
    - Eat what is in, only need to get some fruit
    - Do rescue operation in the veggie box in fridge, I have a feeling that my piggies are going to eat well this weekend :o
    - Put piggies out
    - Cut grass before the jungle gets worse and I have to hire someone with bigger machinery to sort it out
    - HC in 30 and line dry
    - Really going to sort out that scary post pile
    - Continue sorting out books
    - Received my cheap phone I bought from fleabay which should carry me over until I can upgrade, need to set it up with important numbers
    - Empty my other two phones from all the data so that I can recycle them (and get cashback :D)
    - Sent a kiss to lovely man using free texts hoping it will cheer him up when he is working :p
    - DD's dad coming today to take her out and will bring me three dogs so walking them plus mine and going to get friend's dog as well - heaven!
    - Cut DD's fringe
    - Sunday take DD to playground and take drinks with us
